About the meeting of the Board member, Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia A.V. Yakovenko with the Head of the African Global Security Fund (AFGB) Amama Mbabazi

On September 9, a member of the Board, Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia A.V. Yakovenko received former Prime Minister of Uganda, and now Chairman of the African Global Security Fund Amama Mbabazi and President of the Brazzaville Foundation, Deputy Chairman of the AFGB Jean-Yves Olivier.

A.Mbabazi informed about the activities of the Fund and its member countries (Congo, DR Congo, Mauritania, Senegal, Togo, Uganda), stressed that the main goal of the AFGB is to create conditions for the formation of global security in Africa.Olivier spoke in detail about the work of the Foundation to prevent potential conflicts on the continent and ways to resolve them.

The Rector introduced the interlocutors to the main activities of the Academy in the field of advanced training of Russian and foreign diplomats, as well as in the training of international specialists. Special emphasis was placed on the scientific research of the Institute of Topical International Problems and the publishing activities of the Diplomatic Academy.

The parties agreed to sign a cooperation agreement with an emphasis on analytics and the exchange of publications, as well as participation in expert meetings in face-to-face and online modes through the Foundation and the Diplomatic Academy.

At the end of the conversation, A.V. Yakovenko presented the monograph "Africa", just released by the Academy scientists, to the library of the Foundation.: regional security problems", which was gratefully accepted.
