September 29 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our country and Madagascar.

Russian-Malagasy relations are traditionally friendly. The political dialogue is steadily developing. There is a good potential for expanding cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres.

Our countries are consistent supporters of the democratization of interstate communication, its building on the basis of international law, respect for the aspirations of peoples to determine their own future.

Madagascar supports our initiatives at the UN, primarily the resolution on the fight against the glorification of Nazism, as well as the project on transparency and confidence-building measures in outer space.

Russia aims to further build up the Russian-Malagasy partnership for the benefit of the peoples of our countries and in the interests of strengthening peace and stability in East Africa.
