Humanitarian aid has been transferred to the communities of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa in Nigeria.

The food crisis, which primarily affected poor countries and poor segments of the population, affected the countries of the Exarchate's pastoral responsibility and our parishioners are already facing the threat of famine, especially in the provinces.

On September 4, at the end of the Sunday service, the clergy of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa (supervised by the Chairman of the Missionary Department of the Exarchate, Priest Georgy Maximov) handed over food to needy families of nine parishes in the states of Lagos, Anambra, Delta and Benue, and stationery was also handed over to the parents of schoolchildren for the beginning of the school year.

More than two hundred families received assistance, a total of three tons of food, including rice and sweets, and more than two thousand educational kits were transferred.

I thank the donors who have provided support to the clergy and flock of the Exarchate, which is so important and in demand especially today.
