A meeting of the Russian-Algerian Intergovernmental Commission was held in Algeria
From September 26 to 28, 2022, the 10th meeting of the Mixed Intergovernmental Russian-Algerian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation (IPC) was held in Algeria.
The Chairman of the Russian part of the IPC is the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev. The Algerian delegation was headed by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Algerian People's Democratic Republic Mohamed Henny.
The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, as the secretariat of the Russian part of the IPC, organized the preparation of this event, and also held expert talks on the eve of the meeting with the participation of representatives of Russian and Algerian interested departments and business circles.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the achieved level of cooperation in finance, energy, geology, industry and transport, agriculture and education, discussed in detail promising areas of bilateral cooperation, as well as the implementation of existing projects.
The Russian side noted that Algeria has consistently remained one of Russia's key trading partners in Africa – by the end of 2021, the trade turnover amounted to 3 billion US dollars (17% of the total trade volume of Russia with African countries). The Ministers confirmed their intention to make every effort to further the progressive development of trade and economic cooperation.
