Irina Malyshenko

Quality Assurance Engineer
Luxembourg office
More than 2 years in Artec 3D

My job is to test Artec Studio. I check for compliance with requirements and find bugs. For example, new features appear, and we test them to make sure that they meet the requirements, that they are user-friendly, that they work as they are stated in the requirements. We also test the studio before release so that the existing early features work without any problems.
In general, I do everything I can to make the product work well!

I like my job because for many people 3D scanners are something unknown, incomprehensible and even as if they don't exist, that's why it's cool to show everyone that such a cool technology exists and is in demand by many people! For example, in one of the latest Yuri Dud’s interviews there was a character who makes 3D models for movies with our scanners. That’s how I showed everyone what exactly can a company where I work do!

What I particularly enjoy about testing is the element of problem-solving akin to a game. It involves uncovering unexpected results and resolving them, which keeps the work engaging and dynamic.

Despite my background in humanities, transitioning from a legal role focused on tax collection to IT was driven by my fascination with the industry's dynamic and collaborative nature. IT professionals are welcoming, enthusiastic, and often pursue diverse interests outside of work. Moving to Luxembourg was partly motivated by a desire for a vibrant office environment and camaraderie with colleagues.

I still struggle with sometimes complicated terminology related to, say, constructing primitives, but my colleagues are always open and willing to help. They can explain some complicated things in such a simple way that even a child can understand it.

Despite the fact that I have never been to Europe and Luxembourg in particular, I have

seen a lot of things, let's say, through the eyes of my colleagues, who often send me some photos and videos from there. So I expect my move to be partly even familiar and understandable.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing volleyball, vocal training, learning to snowboard, hitting the gym, and gaming. Friday nights are reserved for online League of Legends sessions with a close friend—a cherished ritual.

Blitz:
1/ What’s your favorite dish to cook or to eat?
I love dumplings and have tasted dozens of different kinds in my life!

2/ What superpower would you like to have?

I would like to be able to teleport. I am often late. I really want to be able to teleport. I'm not sure I would stop being late if I did, but.....

3/ If you had an opportunity to switch for another’s working department in Artec 3D what would you pick up?

People are such a unique source of information, so I would switch with someone who interacts with our customers for a day, because they use our scanners in so many interesting areas.
