Anton Babundin
ASIC/FPGA Verification Design Engineer Luxembourg office
I'm part of the R&D Hardware team, overseeing the entire computer vision pipeline within the scanner. My responsibilities range from managing the FPGA and its algorithms to optimizing hardware blocks for acceleration. One notable project involved crafting a sophisticated decoder block, which necessitated the development of a complex simulation environment. Coordinating multiple languages and data streams, ensuring seamless integration, has been a rewarding challenge. Ultimately, these efforts contribute to the scanner's smooth operation, facilitating data processing for Artec Studio.
My work is a constant exploration of new things: new tasks and new knowledge. Yes, in such conditions I often have to adapt quickly to changing requirements, but this is probably the way I can pump up my skills in the most powerful and qualitative way. For example, I haven't worked with Computer Vision before, but now I'm getting deeper and deeper into it, plus I'm studying interesting algorithms, their new processing, and all sorts of articles.
A good way to get in the mood for work is music. I take the bus to the office and get great pleasure from the tracks in my headphones. I listen to a lot of different things, but my three favorite artists are Krovostok, Scorpions and Muse.
Surrounded by a professional and talented team, I find myself as the youngest member, yet there's much to gain from their expertise. Whether it's mastering programming languages or refining task approaches, their mentorship enriches my professional growth.
In general, my leisure time is to play something, watch an interesting movie, or read a book. Recently I can quite recommend the movie "The Golden Glove" and Sergey Dovlatov's book "Inostranka".
In the past year traveling has become a good way to relax and I managed to visit 6 countries. They are Holland, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy and Spain. Among them, the charm of Paris and the vibrant energy of Barcelona left nice memories for me.
Luxembourg appeals to me because of its small size. I live in the third city in the country by Luxembourg's standards, but it only takes me around 30 minutes by public transportation to get to the center and the capital, while almost all the necessities like stores, clinics, and local cafes in my city.
And I also like that you can have Italian neighbors and acquaintances from Portugal or Germany, such a multicultural mix it’s the thing that I like a lot!

Tom Yum
2/ What superpower would you like to have?
3/ If you had an opportunity to switch for another’s working department in Artec 3D what would you pick up?
I would go for R&D team which is connected to software development.
