Phasmophobia - Review

At first glance, especially when you look at the name of the game and the cover, it's easy to assume that this game will be another "jump scare," dime a dozen psychological / horror games that are all too common these days. This game is not like that at all.

Of course, there are jump scares in the game, but it doesn't depend on them. Instead, it builds tension over time; You can literally feel the anticipation building up over time. Anticipation, fear, and foreboding really work Phasmophobia review.

Phasmophobia is a success. Final point. If you are looking for an incredibly fun and truly terrifying game, look no further. This game is best enjoyed with friends in VR, however playing it alone and in standard definition was a lot of fun too.

Your job, for lack of a better term, is to enter haunted locations with up to three of your friends (4 players in total) and gather evidence of paranormal activity. You can equip a variety of ghost hunting equipment on your quest to determine which ghost is haunting your current location.

This game is part Ghostbusters, part Ghostbusters and a dash of Paranormal activity. And everything works perfectly together.

Speech recognition
I was hoping this would break, especially since it was an early access game and I was completely wrong. Talk to a ghost, ask its name, how old it is, show a sign, etc. not only does it work, it is one of the best parts of the gaming experience. If the ghost responds, it is really scary. If the ghost doesn't respond, well, build up the tension.

Oh, and when the entity does not cooperate, well…. He may have sworn to the ghost a few times. I'm sorry, I'm not sorry.

Overall speech recognition works great and will only keep getting better.

As for what I didn't like, well, there isn't much, really.

One thing I hope they will do is add some new game modes, including a "capture the ghost" game mode, or something like that.

Gathering evidence, identifying the ghost and all the scary things that go with it is fun, don't get me wrong. However, I would very much like them to incorporate an element of "extraction". Capture the ghost, destroy the ghost, banish the ghost to another world ...

Something fun like that would be an awesome addition to the game.

Another thing I hope they address in the final release is what happens after you die in the game.
