to support the Financial Controller to understand business operations and issues, ensure the financial implications of these are captured correctly in the financial and statutory satements
to ensure the information in the legal entity financial & statutory statements accurately and completely reflects our business operations
to give technical accounting guidance for different areas within the team and in the region,
to support the decision making process with different accounting analysis,
to ensure that the policies and procedures are understood and followed in the team and act as advisor to other GBO group function teams
to lead and coach the team
to suppor the internal and external audits

Perform month end close responsibilities including journal entry preparation (e.g. accounting guidance and ensuring proper backup information and data in alignment with PCAOB requirements)
Ensure that financial & statutory processes are undertaken accurately, efficiently, on time and that the surrounding internal control procedures are strictly adhered to in line with the internal (CARM) and external requirements,
Support the FAC process, provide analysis for the FAC completion
Provide the Financial Control team with technical accounting guidance and act as the technical expert for of the Financial Controlling team
Understand, interpret, and implement Group Accounting and Reporting requirements; communicate requirements to the rest of the Financial Control team and to relevant teams in the market

Degree educated in relevant finance / accounting/ business
Qualified accountant
6-7 years’ experience in accounting area
Experience working within an international / multicultural environment
Exemplary Risk Management (Internal Controls, Managing Risk, Embedding Compliance & Ethics)
Strong Financial Controlling knowledge (Balance sheet, Group and Local Financial Reporting, Accounting principles)
Strong analytical skills to be able to see and understand the big picture and deliver high level message, offering alternative solutions for issues
Fluent English knowledge

Lack of financial / statutory reporting expertise
Unable to resolve complex problems independently
Poor communication and stakeholder management skills, Unable to communicate accounting requirements simply to a business audience and unable to identify accounting implications of business issues.
Unable to challenges others with ensuring we are doing the “right thing” for the business at all times.
