The Contribution of Paediatric Vaccine in Healthcare Industry

Paediatric Vaccines are given to children to help them stay away from several infectious disease such as measles, diphtheria, poliomyelitis and Haemophilus Influenza. Apart from protection from infectious diseases, these vaccines also help in the improvement of immune system of the children. Pediatric use of complementary / alternative medicine in Washington State was associated with reduced adherence with the recommended pediatric vaccination schedule and with the acquisition of vaccine-preventable disease. Interventions involving the involvement of complementary / alternative medicine providers in vaccination awareness and promotional activities can improve adherence rates and aid public health improvement efforts.

The analysis of pediatric vaccination included data from individuals who had their first and second birthdays during the data collection period and who were enrolled consecutively during the two calendar years in which those birthdays occurred. The data records for each enrollment included this 2-year time slice and included bi-directional indicators for CAM provider use and vaccination receipt, which occurred at any time during the 2-year period.

Disease acquisition analyzes included data for any data-collection years in which they were between 1 and 17 years old and were enrolled for a full calendar year. The data record for each enrollment included a 1–1 to 4-year time slice, which depended on the number of years during the data collection period when they met age and continuous-enrollment requirements. Each record included a yes / no indicator for CAM provider use, a yes / no indicator for diagnosis with any vaccine-preventable disease, and the number of complete years of pediatric coverage during the time slice.
