Does your child love the great outdoors? Our plan is to continue to offer full scholarships to 1 in every 5 thorne campers and to focus our scholarship giving in lafayette through the nature kids program. Any payments you have made to the children's learning center for the arts & nature camp 2020 will be refunded via your original form of payment. Camps may also run activities or themes such as introductory wilderness survival and offer outings to local wildlands, conservation areas or zoos, etc.

Camp participants will do activities including, but not limited to, informal science, hiking the grounds, nature-based arts&craft projects, and kokua within our children's garden. We understand that summer camps, and nature camp in particular, are valued because kids are able Special Needs Camp get away from screens, go outside, and do what kids are supposed to do: explore, ask questions, get dirty, and socialize.
Campers learn basic outdoor skills while preparing for the higher levels of float camps. Campers learn a variety of outdoor skills, including canoeing, orienteering, outdoor cooking, and fishing. Session n is an excellent way for them to bring all of their skills and experiences together and work alongside the summer camp staff that have prepared them all summer.
Weeklong sessions run monday-friday, 9:00 a.M. - 3:30 p.M. Through fun activities and positive staff role models, we help children develop lifelong skills such as confidence, teamwork, leadership, compassion and communication. Your child will unplug from electronics and plug into nature as they participate in age appropriate activities such as finding frogs and insects in the pond, building forts in the forest, learning wilderness survival skills, water sports and adventurous day treks.
