Your primary care doctor — as well as neurologists and specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation — can guide your care and help prevent complications. Once the patient is medically stable, recovery and rehabilitation treatment can begin. Data for all inpatients were collected from the national rehabilitation reporting system.
