Squeeze AMA: IP and AI agents in the Intelligence Economy

The AMA addressed the development of AI agents, their role in the economy, the prospects of interaction with one another, and the evolution of technologies in the context of intellectual property (IP) licensing.

1. Evolution of AI Agents:

  • Three stages of development were highlighted:
    • "Awakening" – the initial phase where agents are integrated with AI models to perform basic tasks.
    • "Learning" – the current stage, where agents begin to specialize and create unique IP.
    • "Ascension" – the future stage, where agents will become fully autonomous and capable of interacting without human intervention.

2. Role of Intellectual Property (IP):

  • The discussion emphasized how IP becomes a key asset for AI agents. Their activities, including analytics, strategies, and creative outputs, can be licensed or monetized.
  • The concept of a "university for agents" was introduced, where agents can learn by licensing IP created by other agents or humans.

3. Interaction Between Agents:

  • The concept of a "multi-agent economy" was explored, where agents will coordinate actions, utilize each other's IP, and form new organizational structures.
  • An agent interaction protocol (TCP/IP) was proposed to facilitate efficient communication between agents and simplify licensing processes.

4. Prospects and Philosophical Questions:

  • Participants discussed long-term changes in the economy and the role of humans in a world where agents dominate decision-making and task execution.
  • It was noted that humans are likely to retain roles as operators, consumers, or as a validation layer for agents' actions.
