Fruits and vegetables

The percentage of people who ate five portions of fruits and vegetables is shown in this chart. The shown percentage is relevant only for the UK and only for period from 2001 to 2008.

However, while the percentage of men eating five portions a day decreased in 2007, and the percentage if women stayed at the point it reached the last year, the percentage of children eating fruits and vegetables peaked in that year. But, by the next year it also decreased as the two other percentages. Similarly, the percentage of men eating fruits and vegetables is always the highest among other two percentages. The next place is taken by women, who eat these products less than men, but more than children.

While in the period from 2001 to 2003 percentage of women and children eating fruits and vegetables were staying constantly on 17%, the percentage of men eating fruits and vegetables was highly increasing. Firstly, in 2001 it stayed at point over the 20%, then rose till 25%, and then rose even more till approximately 27%. Nevertheless, in period from 2004 to 2006 all of these three percentages were increasing.

The last two ears of this graph were not as impressive as the previous ones. In 2007 the percentage of men fell to 30%, the percentage of women stayed unchanged, while the percentage of children increased till 25%. However, in 2008 all the percentages decreased.
