One millionth health case processed through eMedical system

A new electronic processing system that speeds up Australian immigration health examination results for visa applicants has just processed its one millionth case.

The eMedical system, introduced in late 2012 by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP), in conjunction with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). The DIBP said today that the system was delivering both savings and time efficiencies for the agencies and their clients.

Assistant Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, said the eMedical system was now used by almost 3000 users a day in more than 130 countries globally.
