Nowadays, English is considered to be one of the most common languages in the world. Some people even think that one day it will be the only language left. How will this outcome affect our day-to-day life?
Of course, having one global language for everyone has many benefits. First of all, there is no barriers between people. People can easily communicate with each other, not having troubles due to misunderstanding. Secondly, there is no need to learn other languages. It can be especially arduous for elderly persons, because their brain has been affected by age complications. But not only for them does it make problems, but also for younger generation, especially for those lazy individuals, who would be very pleased, if there was only one language.
On the other hand, the result might bring us some problems. For instance, eventual disappearance of cultural values. Due to this whole nations can lose their individualities and value which was received in many centuries by their ancestors. Moreover, we can see that the process of learning new languages on its own significantly improves our memory, as well as, prevents many brain diseases, and reduces consequences of aging. Therefore, we can't start using sporadic language for all Earth citizens without consequences.
As a conclusion, I want to say that this is a very hard decision for humanity, which can not be made without taking into account all its possible outcomes, due to many complications that can show up in case of accepting English as one global language. So, there are definitely many things to think of before anything is already done.
