Japan to become Sixth eye of Five eyes

U.S – Japan relation is all time high as Japan is ready to join the “Five Eyes” intelligance sharing and have been in debate in the world. The following action comes when U.S –China relation is at all time low.

Under an expanded “Five Eyes plus” framework, the group – which comprises Australia, Britain, Canada, New Zealand and the US – will work with Japan, France and South Korea to strengthen intelligence activities on North Korea, government sources from Japan and the US said.The framework, which does not entail full membership, will also see the eight partners exchanging information on China’s growing military muscle and newly developing areas such as outer space and cybersecurity, the sources said.

The “Five Eyes Alliance” intelligence compromoise of five English speaking countries. Its formed in 1946 when U.S and U.K signed the “U.K-U.S communication intelligence Agreement”. Later, Cannada joined the group in 1948 and New Zealand and Australia joined the group in 1956.

The recent China-U.S. rivalry and the pandemic exposed the West’s over-reliance on China’s supply chain. The Five Eyes began to discuss joint resources and critical infrastructure development.

The major hindrance for Japan’s formal inclusion would be Tokyo’s relatively underdeveloped intelligence-gathering capabilities. Hence, there could be a possibility of the leakage of some defense technologies via Japan.

College student ends life after woman threatens to reveal Illicit relationship

A second year B.Com student committed sucide in Pune’s Koyali village after his Facebook friend threatened him and demanded money for being in a physical relationship. Police officials said that deceased Aakash Dadabhau Pokale and Sangeeta alias Priya Rajendra Deshmukh (36)were neighbours but didn’t know until he met her.

According to the officials Sangeeta lured him into a physical relationship and later demanded money for it and blackmailed him that she would tell his parents about their relationship.

Alandi police arrested Sangeeta after a complaint by Akash’s sister. A case of accidental death was registered but after further investigation of Akash cell details and chat history it shows the case of blackmail.

According to police, Aakash had slipped into depression after meeting Sangeeta. Before ending his life, he had called his sister and narrated her about his relationship with the woman.

In her complaint, Harshada claimed that the accused is married and took advantage of the situation. “She befriended Aakash on Facebook and started chatting with him via Facebook Messenger. On several days, she lured him into having sexual relations with her. Later, Sangeeta started demanding money from Aakash and threatened to defame him if he did not pay,” the complaint stated.

Upon checking the chat details on Aakash’s mobile phone, the police found that Sangeeta had blackmailed him to continue the physical relationship and even asked for money.

Rahane leads team India to Victory

Captain Ajinkya Rahane leads India to a comfortable victory against Australia in the second test to level the Border-Gavaskar series 1-1. Rahane was also awarded the man of the match for his brilliant batting.

Australia had decided to bat but couldn’t manage to score more than 195 in the first innings. Thanks to captain Rahane’s century India scored 326 and then bowled out Australia for 200. The target was 70 runs which India chased down with eight wickets in hand.

India looked in control for most part of the game and didn’t give the Aussies a second chance to make a comeback.

After their dismal performance in the first test against Australia in which India were bowled out for 36 runs in the second innings and set a target of 90 which the Aussies chased easily, this has been a good comeback.

This victory is special as India didn’t have Captain Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ishant or Shami at their disposal.

Guarantee on MSP, tax on private Mandis : Center drafts proposal

Center has finally sent a draft proposal to allay the concerns of thousands of farmers who are protesting against the new agriculture laws at various areas of Delhi.

In the draft proposal from the Center it assured the farmers that it will provide a written assurance that the existing Minimum Support Price (MSP) system will continue.

The proposal comes a day after farmers leaders met Union Minister Amit Shah, the government said that its ready to make necessary amendments in the laws.

The government also said that its ready to provide clarification on the concerns of new laws related to agriculture.

Center’s Draft Proposals

Government is ready to give written assurance that the MSP system will stay.
Government is ready to amend the laws to allow states to register private traders for trading outside regulated mandis. In such mandis, state governments will be able to impose cess/fee as applicable at APMCs.
Government will make amendments to give farmers the option to approach civil courts to resolve disputes.
Government has assured farmers that no loan can be availed for any type of construction done on contracted land and nor can the sponsor encroach upon such construction after the contract ends.
Government has assured that lease, mortgage or sale of farmers’ land is prohibited. It also prohibits sponsors from acquiring ownership rights or making modifications on such land.

But after all the assurance from the Centre the farmers rejected the draft proposal and said that the government must repeal the new law.

On attaching farm land under contract farming, the government said the existing provision is clear but still it can be clarified further if required.

The next round of talks between the government and farm union leaders, which was scheduled for Wednesday morning, has also been cancelled.

While Ronaldo was in Spain he and Messi drove each other to greater and greater heights, in what was football’s greatest rivalry between individuals. On Tuesday, they cross swords once again, perhaps as a last encore.

US‌ ‌ends‌ ‌5‌ ‌cultural‌ ‌exchange‌ ‌programmes‌ ‌with‌ ‌China‌

In a new move, The United States has ended five cultural exchange programmes with China, which could further escalate tensions between the two leading economies of the world.

The outgoing Trump administration took the decision by stating that the programmes were being used to promote Chinese propaganda and that The United States had no benefits from them.

The programmes which were terminated are the Policymakers Educational China Trip Program, the US-China Friendship Program, the US-China Leadership Exchange Program, the US-China Transpacific Exchange Program and the Hong Kong Educational and Cultural Program.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the exchange programmes he ended were fully paid for and operated by the Chinese Government “as soft power propaganda tools”.

They provided “carefully curated access to Chinese Communist Party officials, not to the Chinese people, who do not enjoy freedoms of speech and assembly”, he said in a statement late Friday.

The US announced earlier this week that the new time limits on visas for members of the Chinese Communist Party and their families are valid to one month reducing them from the previous validity of 10 years.

The Trump administration has taken a variety of punitive measures against China as disputes sharpen over human rights, the coronavirus pandemic, and trade, technology, Taiwan and many other issues.

However, these policies could be modified or changed by the new incoming president Joe Biden.

India wins 1st T20 International

India won their 1st T20 International match with Australia by 11 runs. Men in yellow won the toss and elected to bowl first.

There was a change in India opening combination as KL Rahus and Shikhar Dhawan came out to bat. Shikhar got out early but KL stedead the innings by scoring a half century. He scored 51 off 40 deliveries.

Other batsmen didn’t impress and again the responsibility was taken by Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja. Hardik fell short and got caught on long off while trying to hit a six but Jadeja made a quick 23 ball 43 to get to a total of 161.

Unfortunately jadeja was taken off in the break due to concussion which occurred after a Mitchell Starc bouncer had hit him on the head. Yazuvendra Chalal came on as his substitute.

Australia began well but Chahal got Finch out in his first over and then the Australian innings didn’t manage to form a good partnership, they kept losing wickets at crucial moments.

T Natarajan impressed by taking three wickets on his International debut. In the end Australia fell short of the 161 mark and could only manage to score 150 for 7 wickets.

Chahal was given the man of the match for his 3 wickets. India now lead the three match series 1-0.

CM Yogi’s visit to Mumbai makes some people uncomfortable

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath is on a two days visit to Mumbai in order to meet industrialists and personalities from the film industry. He also listed Rs 220 crore Lucknow Municipal Corporation bonad at Bombay Stock Exchange.

Yogi had earlier revealed his ambitious plan to set a film city in Uttar Pradesh and he also offered film fraternity lots of discounts on their procent if they come to UP.

In response to CM Yogi, Shiv Sena hit back by saying that it’s not easy to shift Mumbai’s Film City elsewhere.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said, “We are not jealous if someone progresses, we do not have any problem with someone’s progress if one competes. But if you are going to forcibly take anything away, then of course, I won’t let it happen and you (industrialists) will not be willing to go,”

“Some people are coming today, they will also meet you all and ask you to come (for investments). But they do not know the magnetic strength (of Maharashtra), it is so powerful that they forget people going from here to there, it should not so happen that somebody from there comes here,” he added.

The Maharashtra Chief Minister had earlier warned against attempts to malign or finish off the film industry from Mumbai.

Volcano erupts in Indonesia

A volcano in Indonesia’s East Nusa Tenggara province erupted on Sunday, which released ash and smoke as high as four kilometres into the sky. Due to this more than 2,700 residents had to be evacuated, the country’s disaster mitigation agency said.

Indonesia is a country with more than 130 active Volcanoes, more than any other country. Although there is no specific pattern to when and which volcano would erupt. The exact location of Mt. Ile Lewotobi volcano is about 2,600 kilometres east of Indonesia’s capital of Jakarta.

A 17-year-old witness, Muhammad Ilham, told Reuters that resident nearby were “panicked and they’re still looking for refuge and in need of money right now”.

Indonesia’s Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation Centre said on its website that the area near the volcano is likely to be inundated with “hot clouds, lava stream, lava avalanche, and poisonous gas”.

This is the second volcanic eruption after the Merapi volcano on the island of Java and Sinabung on Sumatra, which erupted earlier this month.

India loses ODI series with Australia

Australia completely outplayed India in second ODI by defeating Indian side by 51 runs in three match series at the Sydney ground. The hosts took a lead of 2-0 in the series, following their victory in the first ODI.

After winning the toss Australia choose to bat and scored 389 runs for the loss of four wickets. Steve Smith scored his 11th century making it two consecutive centuries in the series.

Indian bowlers suffered once again to take wickets which helped David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, Marnus Labuschagne and Aaron Finch hit half-centuries.

Virat Kohli was the highest run-getter for Team India, smashing 89 runs off 87 deliveries. KL Rahul was the second top run-scorer, hitting 76 runs off 66 balls.

Pat Cummins was the pick of the bowlers, accounting for three wickets. Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa completed two dismissals apiece.
