These aren't some big secrets but for beginners looking into reddit for adult marketing, this guide will go over everything to do to get a lot of karma and followers.

Browser Setup:

The best setup to avoid any bans and look fully legit is the following:
Download firefox portable, and rename the folder to something relevant so you can find it easier.
Then, download the 3 addons Chameleon, FoxyProxy, and Spoof Timezone.

On Chameleon you can configure it how you like but the important thing to do is have these following settings enabled:
Prevent Etag Tracking: This is a type of tracking that can track you even if in another browser or private browser, by preventing it you can look like a real user unaffiliated with any of your real profiles.
Spoof Accept Language: English US or the relevant one. This makes it look like your system language is that of the country you're claiming to be from. Important step especially if you use VAs who are often from third world countries which can be identified with this tracking method if not enabled.
Protect Keyboard Fingerprint should be enabled: This is a form of tracking based on your keyboard and afaik your typing speed, break length, etc.

You don't need to spoof useragent because it's a fresh firefox profile, but if you want you can.

Afterwards, configure your proxy via foxyproxy (it's very easy to use) and use spoof timezone to spoof timezone to your proxy IP.
Check whoer.net and make sure you have 100% score.

This setup will ensure you can work properly and is a good equivalent if you don't want to bother with paid browsers, you can get a similar level of anonymity with this and even more if you enable some other features (not necessary for this though).

Rapid growth method:

The first tip is to avoid free karma subreddits to start off with if you don't want your account to look spammy (You can always use them and delete after if you want but even then it's not a very efficient way of getting karma).

The best thing to do to start is by making a list of NSFW subreddits. If your account is fresh choose 15-30 good subs, but I would go for 100-200 and split it over accounts, you'll see why.
At the start, you don't need to look for subreddits you can crosspost to (you're just going to be building karma and followers first).
Usually you can outsource this to a VA very easily since it's not a hard task but is time consuming.

Now check for activity and make sure the posts there get a decent amount of upvotes, big communities are best for karma but they usually will not allow fresh accounts to post so look for ones between 50-150k members. If you find a bigger one that lets you post though, use it.

Now put your subreddits in these sites:

Now you want to make a list of each of those subreddits and times to post.
You should now have a posting schedule.

Next, check the sub a bit to get an idea of the general taste of what they're into.
Go to redgifs.com, search by keyword and choose whatever you think fits the relevant subreddit taste best and is most relevant.

Do this for each subreddit and you now have a posting schedule, and content to post.
Just post at the relevant times and you're good to go.
Make sure to choose a catchy title, copy ones that are popular in the community but obviously reword them to be relevant to your post.

This works best with VAs because you have an exact posting schedule for them, with exact times and the exact content. It's a very efficient way of getting things done.

Comment tactic:

This one is a bit more well known, but with a twist at the end. Make sure to do the above method first / alongside this.
Go to any of the big, well known textbased subreddits like /r/AskReddit for example.
Sort posts by rising, choose a few posts.
As posts are almost always reposts, just search the post title in the search bar and find any instance where it was big.
Choose a comment and steal it and post it on the relevant post. Don't choose one of the top ones, it's better if you choose one of the lower down but still highly upvoted ones. You can also edit the comment a bit if you don't want to get called out, but nobody really cares about some reddit neckbeard saying you stole a comment.

Next, go on your alt and reply saying something like "reply relevant to the comment or talking about it... but wtf is your post history" or something along those lines, anything that suggests something about the users post history.

Many users will click through and that gets you even more karma, followers, and your comment gets more attention now because of people talking about your post history, so as a bonus you got karma from that comment.
