#sustainability

THE PROBLEM

Unsatisfying Overconsumption, Pollution & Climate Change. Fashion purchase tripled in the last 20 years, while active use halved. 3/5 of all clothing ends up in landfills within 1 year. We have a wardrobe full of clothing but “nothing to wear”. Fashion production makes up for 10% of humanity’s carbon emissions, dries up water sources, and pollutes rivers and streams.

THE SOLUTION

The Creation of a Circular Economy. Let's create an industry where products are created as sustainably as possible, used, shared, repaired, and reused to create something new. So that nothing is wasted.

OUR VISION

We need to change the way we create and consume fashion.

SHAREaLOOK’s business model is derived from the Circular Economy Model, the “Butterfly Model”, from the Ellen Mc Arthur foundation.

To support the transition towards a more sustainable fashion, circular economy we start with the consumer. Changing the way we perceive and treat fashion goods will have a big impact, not only on our environment but also on our consumption patterns and will play a major role to make the industry shift from “take, make and dispose” to “use, reuse and repurpose”.

Longer-term we will help the industry to transfer to circular methods offering Data as a Service as well as our Software.

We aim to:

1) Learn to understand user patterns and preferences on sustainable and rental fashion usage

2) Collect data on materials, products and their life cycles

3) Give recommendations on how to safe resources and C02 to individuals and brands

3) Connect different players to repurpose material

4) Proof to brands that higher quality, lasting products at a fair price will pay off in a circular economy

4) Improve the quality of life for future generations and textile workers.

#humanity

Our future

In 2019 we partnered with LALEC, an orphanage in Sao Paolo over the Christmas time and donated 10% of our revenue. LALEC – Lar Amor Luz e Esperança da Criança – is a charitable, non-governmental and non-profit charity. At LALEC children find a home, while awaiting their reintegration into the biological family or foster families.

We learned that this is a great way to combine business with purpose and impact and continue giving 10% of our profits to organizations like LALEC.
