The best alternative to Telegram Wallet P2P is surely the Telegram xRocket P2P. With almost 1 million users, it is of course smaller and lesser known than Wallet, however, it has been running for longer and is managed very well with known owner and employees. There is also Cryptobot but I recommend xRocket overall.

One of the Approved TON Wallets (see listings at ton.org) it does not have the same web interface as Wallet as yet, and uses the old style bot commands which are easy and fast to use, but it has actually more and better features for both buyers and sellers. These include the ability to set and filter criteria such as ratings and history.

I've traded actively on all 3 platforms since each of them started, and although Telegram Wallet has been my overall favorite this is simply because it is more popular so there are more traders, but xRocket also matches its excellent Customer Support Service, and you can often find better prices from traders on the xRocket P2P Market.

There is another plus point that is very important in my view: Telegram Wallet uses third party "KYC" service that invades users privacy by demanding identity documents and address verification, and also restricts users from a great many countries. This is because Telegram Wallet is aiming to be accepted by the Western financial services and is currently apply for FCA accreditation in the UK.

xRocket on the other hand does not ask for any KYC whatsoever, and instead relies on time proven and tested method of automated escrow: payments are only released, as with other P2P services, when both parties have approved. If there is a dispute, Support can be contacted and this service is provided in the same way as Wallet.

Send, Receive, Store USDT-TON in TonSafe

You can receive USDT-TON the USDT Tether token on the TON blockchain which is tied to the rate of the US Dollar, directly into your TonSafe account using the same address as your TonSafe TON wallet.

The USDT balance will be shown also on the screen if you have a USDT balance. The total value of your assets in local currency is however only showing the TON converted value and does not include your USDT balance.

You can also easily send USDT-TON by tapping on the USDT balance. Make sure to send only to TON network addresses, not TRX (TRC20), not ERC20 nor others.

Sending USDT is charged at around 0.1 TON (you may be charged 0.2 TON and then receive a Cashback of around 0.1 TON) so you can only send USDT if you have a balance of at least 0.2 TON in your TonSafe.

Receiving and storing USDT is free of charge.

A great feature of TonSafe for those making frequent TON payments is Contacts. Contacts is easily reached by tapping on the two heads icon just below the red Send button on the default TonSafe wallet screen.

Unlike other TON Wallets which have a basic contacts feature, TonSafe does NOT store your contacts and data on our servers: we value and safeguard your privacy!

By saving TON wallet addresses as contacts, you can lessen the chance of sending to the wrong place, since wallet addresses are generally a long string of characters, even though TonSafe has mitigated this by highlighting the last two characters.

Although your privacy is a big advantage of the way we have implemented Contacts, unlike with other privacy-invasive methods such as that used by other wallets such as Tonhub, if you want to access your wallet Contact addresses from another phone, you cannot — of course, because everything is saved only locally on your device.

As so often, security/privacy and convenience are trade-offs. TonSafe however does not trade your security or privacy just to make things more comfortable or easy.

So, how can you transfer your TonSafe Contacts from one phone to another?

While we plan future improvements to our Address system, meanwhile you can export/import your Contacts with a little manual effort, one by one, as follows:

On the phone you want to export the Contact from, open the Contact and then click on the View (eye) icon. In the new window, click on the small QR code symbol that shows after the address. This opens up the QR code of that address.
On the phone you want to import the Contact to, open Contacts then tap on Add Contact at the top. Type the Name for the Contact, and then tap on the QR code symbol: this opens the scanner. Point your scanner (camera) at the other phone.

That's all there is to it: you can save that Contact then tap the View Contacts button to return to the list, and repeat for the next Contact that you want to export/import.

Everything is done locally through the air without any possibility of interception.

While these ratings are not definitive, they are averages taking into account various factors as mentioned on the page.

Building a Safe Ecosystem on TON

In this update we would like to share with our readers some of the plans we have with TonSafe.

Crypto Wild West

Unfortunately, cryptocurrency in general, are widely used by scammers, fraudsters, and opportunists, in attempts to enrich themselves at the expense of others.

We at TonSafe, have been motivated from the outset by a desire to build a safer ecosystem on TON.

Win-Win-Win

What we'd like to see is users of TON being able to earn TON, save TON and spend TON, in a way that benefits everyone, including the community at large.

Our strategies to do this include making the safest TON Wallet, which we have already achieve with TonSafe, and also in building a strong community and strong alliances.

Of course in doing so, everything needs to be sustainable. We have had a round 1 seed investment which we managed internally so as to move forward as fast as possible, which has allowed us to complete the first phase: releasing TonSafe TON Wallet.

In doing so we took great care not to use our users as unpaid beta testers, which is the case with much of the competition and best known wallets. Instead we used highly qualified, experienced and professional teams to test each version prior to release.

Our first 6 months were spent on research and development prior to any public release. Our last 6 months have been spent on expanding the features of TonSafe.

Future Plans

We still have features on the roadmap in upcoming planned releases, but already TonSafe has 18 features which are not available in other TON wallets — we do not list them here so as not to give the competition ideas — routine users will discover them.

TonSafe PRO has long been available on a monthly (5 TON) or yearly (50 TON) basis, and we have a growing number of loyal users among TonSafe installations in at least 87 countries world wide. We aim to give good returns to our paying members.

In addition to existing benefits, we want to assist those who want to earn TON via P2P exchanges by providing exclusive information and benefits to TonSafe PRO members: these would include a long listing of traders to reject offers to avoid wasting time.

Also there will be tips and the Pros and Cons of several P2P markets and Telegram bots, which will help buyers and sellers to maximize their gains and minimize losses.

Beware of (Fake) "TON Safe"

TonSafe has been in the market since over six months now. Note that it is "TonSafe" as one word. TonSafe is available in the Google and Apple app stores as well as APK.

It has come to our attention that a new wallet is in development using the name "TON Safe" — clearly this is not acceptable and would be probably grounds to be banned from App Stores for violation of policies, and certainly for possible legal action.

The name is essentially the same, adding a space or not, is not a difference: whether we say TonSafe or TON Safe, both sound exactly the same, and both are the combination of the exact same two words.

Currently we are only aware of two possibilities as to why this new wallet chose the same name, whilst not excluding a third possibility the two we are aware of are:

They did not know that TonSafe exists. This is hard to believe, and if true, would mean that the team behind "TON Safe" did not do even the most basic of research, and thus, could not be trusted to be an honest app developer. The lack of honesty would imply that the wallet itself could not be trusted. Any simple web search for TonSafe in web search engines or the app stores searching for TON Wallets — something any new wallet would surely do is to check existing competition — reveals the existence of TonSafe. Moreover, when registering their domain name, they would have checked common domains such as tonsafe.com, tonsafe.net and tonsafe.org and realized there is an existing TonSafe wallet.
They do know that TonSafe exists and want to benefit from our name, or sow confusion among TON communities, or have some other malicious intent, or have a relationship to a competitor. If they know that TonSafe exists, which is inevitable if any simple basic research was conducted, then they would be ill-intentioned to use this name from a product that was already on the market since six months.

This is like the difference in brand name between CocaCola and Coca Cola. The masses of potential customers, as well as existing customers, will not pay attention to the difference, and assume they are one and the same.

We will be monitoring the situation before deciding which course(s) of action to take.

TON Connect 2.0 New Standard

This is currently especially useful for DEX (Decentralized Exchanges) such as ston.fi.

Be aware of wallet spam scams, here is all you need to know...

If you see a message in your TonSafe and it is marked SPAM do not follow any instructions in it, this is a trick to get you to go onto some website where they will try to trick you into entering your 24 secret words or spending money on a scam.

And please never ever use a web wallet no matter how convenient it may seem.

Also: never ever enter your 24 secret words from your TonSafe wallet anywhere else, it could be a fake wallet or lack sufficient security features.

If you want to use different wallets, set them up with their own wallet addresses, don't re-use your 24 secret words to log into other wallets!

❗️The importance of 24 secret words

TonSafe is a self-custodial (also known as "non-custodial") wallet. Therefore there is no one except you who has custody of your wallet account. This means that unlike with a bank account, if you lost your passwords, you cannot ask TonSafe or even the C.I.A. to help you regain access.

Without the 24 secret words you cannot access your account if you log out or uninstall the wallet or lose your phone or some other calamity occurs.

TonSafe has gone to great lengths to make sure that you take responsibility and do not cut corners. However, there are sadly always some people who ignore all advice, instructions, or try to cheat the process.

When you first install TonSafe and create your wallet, you are asked to write down the 24 passwords. If you try to pass this step too quickly, we remind you that you did not have enough time to write down the passwords.
TonSafe app then randomly asks you for 3 of those passwords to make sure that you have them. If you took a screen shot you cheated, you can pass this step, but later you may regret this. We advise only to physically write them down.
When you use TonSafe we remind you from time to time to jog your memory about where you preserved your 24 secret words.
Before you log out, we take you through several confirmation steps to make sure that you have your 24 secret words written down in at least one safe place.

These things actually annoy some people. They asked us to make it easier and more convenient. We told them that TonSafe doesn't care if we have more users if these users did not back up their 24 secret words, and installed the wallet because of convenience, as later some of those may lose their funds. We would rather have fewer users who were not deterred by the safety measures.

Those who want to take their chances we encourage and are happy if you will use a different TON wallet.

So, how is it that in spite of all the safety measures we take, some people are losing access to their TonSafe? Simply, they cheated. They did one of any of the following:

They did not physically write down their 24 secret words
They did not remember where they preserved the written copy
They took a screen shot (a security risk, plus easy to lose or delete)
They ignored our reminders
They ignored the instructions and cheated
"I'll do it properly later", they said, but "later" never came

All sorts of problems can arise if you did one of the above:

Your phone or app develops a glitch, you have to reinstall TonSafe
Your phone was lost, broken or stolen
Any other accident or unexpected event

For those who wrote down their 24 secret words and double checked them carefully and copied them down into two or more safe locations, you have nothing to worry about, you can always access your blockchain account even if you lose your phone or log out.

For those that cheated, when something goes wrong, you have only yourself to blame.

Especially given that TonSafe does more than ANY other TON Wallet to ensure that you do not cut corners and do not log out easily and that you get reminders from time to time to refresh your memory, and ensure that you have indeed written down and know where you have kept your 24 secret words in a physically safe location.
