Би-би-си: Способность видеть будущее — она имеется у всех людей в равной степени или нет?

М.К.: Что отличает мозг обычного человека от мозга гения? Мозг обычного человека реагирует только на сиюминутные возможности, то есть рассматривает только те из них, которые находятся непосредственно перед его глазами. Такой мозг почти ничего не планирует. Например, какие-нибудь мелкие воришки хватают только то, что непосредственно видят. Они планировать не в состоянии. Тогда как великие мыслители способны грамотно пользоваться этой машиной времени, которой их наделила природа. Они могут моделировать будущее. Они понимают законы природы, поэтому могут спроецировать настоящее в будущее и предположить, каким же оно будет.

Би-би-си: Можно ли сказать, каким будет величайшее открытие, сделанное человечеством в ближайшие 100 лет, исходя из того, что нам известно на сегодняшний день?

М.К.: Крупнейшие научные достижения прошлого касались как очень маленьких, так и очень больших вещей.

Под маленькими я, конечно, имею в виду строение и функции человеческого мозга и генетику. Под очень большими — теорию Большого взрыва. Сейчас мы стали рассматривать вселенную с точки зрения квантовой теории.

Следующий большой скачок произойдет, когда мы сумеем объединить большое с маленьким. Когда мы сумеем применить квантовую теорию к пониманию генетики и человеческого мозга.

И в этом нам должны помочь квантовые компьютеры. В каком-то смысле таким квантовым компьютером является сама мать-природа. Сейчас мы используем компьютеры, работающие на бинарном коде. Но природа работает иначе. Она, в отличие от цифрового разума, мыслит не нулями и не единицами. У нее — квантовый разум. Этот разум понимает атомы, электроны и фотоны. Именно из них слагается язык вселенной. И именно это и будет следующим большим прорывом в науке.

Би-би-си: Следует ли ожидать этого большого скачка только в физике, или он распространится и на другие науки, например, на медицину?

М.К.: Современная медицина работает методом проб и ошибок. Давайте попробуем это лекарство. А оно сработает? Мы не знаем. Ладно, давайте попробуем другое. А оно поможет? Мы опять не знаем. Хорошо, тогда давайте попробуем третье.

Многие чудодейственные лекарства были найдены случайно. Однако если применить к медицине квантовую теорию, то исследования будут вестись на молекулярном уровне. Вы сможете увидеть и понять, как работает каждая отдельная молекула.

После этого вы начнете заполнять пробелы в имеющихся знаниях и создавать новые лекарства буквально с нуля. Означает ли это, что химики просто останутся без работы, потому что они нам больше не будут нужны? Означает ли это, что всю работу будут выполнять квантовые компьютеры? Вовсе нет.

Химики будущего будут применять квантовую теорию для понимания химических реакций. Биологи будущего будут пользоваться квантовой теорией для более глубокого понимания ДНК. Но врачи и ученые, которые занимались только химией и только биологией, останутся без работы. Поскольку будущее будет квантово-механическим, и создавать лекарства мы будем именно на основе квантовой механики.

М.К.: Квантовые компьютеры помогут победить рак. Мы сможем спрогнозировать будущую раковую опухоль задолго до ее появления. Допустим, что ваш ДНК-код можно будет легко считывать каждый раз, когда, вы, например, принимаете душ или идете в туалет. И по нынешнему состоянию ДНК можно будет спрогнозировать, что вас ждет в будущем. Раковую опухоль можно будет предсказать за десять лет до того, как она разовьется.

В США уже сейчас можно сдать кровь для диагностики рака. Уже сейчас такой анализ гарантированно даст ответ, есть ли у вас раковое заболевание или нет. В будущем слово «опухоль» просто исчезнет из нашего языка, так же как и слово «рак» в применении к заболеванию.

Би-би-си: Вы также говорите, что интернета в его нынешнем виде тоже больше не будет, что мы будем непосредственно подключаться к мировой информационной сети через мозг, то есть через разум…

М.К.: Интернет будущего не будет цифровым. Цифровые технологии слишком медленны и слишком грубы. Интернет будущего будет квантовым и сольется с мозгом. Он будет называться «брейнет» (англ. brainet, сеть мозга). Человек будет просто думать, а его мысли будут переноситься по всему миру, взаимодействуя с другими мыслями или вещами.

Но его развитие чревато двумя потенциальными угрозами, и они совершенно разные.

Первая из них совершенно конкретна и непосредственно угрожает жизни отдельных людей: дроны, способные распознавать черты лица и намеренно или случайно убивать кого угодно и когда угодно. Таким образом, у нас появится автоматическая машина для убийства. Машина, которая сможет летать, которая сможет наблюдать за местностью, идентифицировать конкретного человека и убить его, например, устроив какую-нибудь аварию. Правда, до этого еще далеко. Но рано или поздно наши роботы сравняются в интеллекте с мышами. Потом они станут такими же умными, как кролики. Затем наступит очередь собак и кошек, а под конец их мыслительные способности сравняются со способностями обезьян. В этот момент они и станут потенциально опасными, потому что обезьяны понимают разницу между обезьяной и человеком.

Вот я и думаю, что вполне возможно, что через 100 лет у нас появятся роботы, практически неотличимые от людей. К этому моменту мы должны сделать все возможное, чтобы у них не появилось собственное мнение и чтобы они ни в коем случае и помыслить не могли на нас напасть. Мы должны будем вставить в их мозг чип, который бы их отключал, если у них только возникнут мысли об убийстве.

Но я думаю, что до этого еще далеко и что в запасе у человечества еще масса времени, прежде чем искусственный интеллект достигнет подобного уровня. Непосредственную опасность представляют дроны, которые могут убивать без разбора кого угодно и где угодно.

Би-би-си: До какой степени квантовые компьютеры будут определять наше будущее?

Они способны дать нам термоядерные электростанции, которые не вырабатывают ядерных отходов. Они создадут новые лекарства от таких болезней, как рак, болезнь Альцгеймера или синдром Паркинсона, они, безусловно, станут источником повышения благосостояния общества.

Разработчик Начо Мелладо (Nacho Mellado) рассказал, что он взломал компилятор C++ 28-летней давности (Watcom C++32 версии 11.0 1996 года от Sybase Inc.), чтобы проект поддерживал исключения. Фактически это произошло за два года до того, как исключения стали частью первого стандарта C++.

Оказалось, что Watcom компилирует try, catch и throw, но сгенерированный код вызывает хуки, которых нет ни в одной библиотеке, поставляемой с компилятором. Поиск по ретрофоруму этого проекта оказался безрезультатным. Судя по всему, команда Sybase готовила поддержку исключений, но тогда разработчики не выпустили её полностью в открытом виде.

Не имея документации, Мелладо фактически работал на ощупь. Итак, он провёл реверс-инжиниринг компилятора, создав множество программ, дизассемблировав сгенерированные двоичные файлы и формулируя гипотезы, пока не объяснил и не понял все двоичные файлы проекта.

Эта доработанная модель компилятора позволила Мелладо кодировать хуки и иметь исключения! С исключениями+RAII приведённый выше код теперь выглядит намного лучше.

Платформа оборачивает всё во внешний try-catch и автоматически обрабатывает ошибки и освобождение ресурсов. Мелладо пояснил, что итоговый код станет более кратким, поскольку класс Image будет включать в себя большую часть базовой простой структуры SLI.
