Public good и “эффект безбилетника”

Существуют задачи, для решения которых требуются усилия множества людей, а получаемую от этих решений пользу трудно измерить только деньгами.

Глобальные проблемы, типа уменьшения углеродного следа или снижения количества выбрасываемых пластиковых отходов, требуют координации со стороны всего человечества. Бывают и менее масштабные задачи, которые требуют гораздо меньшего количества вовлеченных участников. Но, в любом случае, если в результате решения задачи появляется общественное благо (commons), улучшающее жизнь других людей, и оно свободно используется всеми, то можно сказать, что эта задача принадлежит к категории public good.

Однако, несмотря на то, что решаемая проблема или создаваемое благо улучшит жизнь множества людей, работа над задачей public good зачастую не предполагает оплаты и ведется на добровольных началах. Вполне вероятно, что люди, решившие важную для общества проблему, будут признаны обществом и вознаграждены. Но это произойдет потом, после признания их заслуг, и они не могут рассчитывать на вознаграждение заранее и закладывать его в основу своей деятельности.

Работы над общественными задачами социально важны и почетны, но не стоит забывать, что людям нужно платить за жилье, покупать продукты, оплачивать медстраховку и обучение детей в колледже. Для общественных проектов всегда остро стоит вопрос финансирования. В современной экономической модели есть несколько путей сбора денег на commons. Это – государственные дотации, ограниченные возможностями бюджета, гранты от крупных организаций, ограниченные советом директоров или сбор пожертвований от людей, которым вопрос небезразличен, но и их возможности не безграничны. Бизнес не ждет возврата инвестиций в общественные проекты и всегда расценивает их для себя как благотворительные затраты, которые обычно старается минимизировать.

Более того, у общественных проектов возникает "эффект безбилетника" (free-rider problem), когда конечный потребитель общественного блага старается уклониться от его оплаты. Если десять крупнейших стран мира соберутся и решат проблему глобального потепления, то оставшиеся 180 стран будут счастливы, но денег "в общую кассу" могут и не сдать. В менее глобальных задачах сохраняется тот же free-rider problem – большинство, пользующееся благом, не хочет за него платить, а хочет получать его бесплатно, так как это благо общественное.

Заинтересованное большинство обычно находится в ожидании, когда же их проблема будет решена небольшой группой энтузиастов. Бесплатно.

Public good и Bonding Curve

А что, если бы участие в финансировании общественных задач вознаграждалось? И не аплодисментами на торжественном вечере, посвященном спасению морских котиков и наполненному известными меценатами и не почетными грамотами, а финансово? Представьте себе, что вы совершаете инвестицию не в действующий рисковый бизнес, а в общественное благое дело или в решение глобальной проблемы? И вы получаете доход от вложений, как вы привыкли - выраженный в росте вашего портфеля "акций морских котиков".

Это кажется невыполнимым в современной экономической модели, но блокчейн и программируемые деньги решают эту задачу с помощью одной интересной модели.

Давайте предположим, что команда, занимающаяся проблемой public good, выпускает собственные "акции" проекта. В крипто-сообществе роль таких акций выполняет проектный токен. Цена этих акций (токенов) привязывается к формуле и автоматически рассчитывается в зависимости от количества токенов, выпущенных в обращение. Чем больше выпущено токенов, тем дороже становится каждый следующий токен для покупателя.

Получается, что зависимость цены токена от количества выпущенных токенов описывается кривой, получившей название Bonding Curve (или кривая связывания). Обычно она изображается в виде подобного графика:

В данном примере, по горизонтальной оси отмеряется количество выпущенных в обращение токенов, а по вертикальной - текущая цена токена. Зависимость цены от количества описывается формулой и на данном графике представлено в виде кривой BC. Технически Bonding Curve представляет собой смарт-контракт – т.е. программу на блокчейне, которая продает и покупает токены проекта, исходя из заложенной в него формулы цены.

Модель непрерывного финансирования

Предположим, что вы хотите помочь проекту, который занимается спасением редких видов животных. Вы разбиваете копилку и отдаете этому проекту свои сбережения. В обычной жизни этот жест стал бы простым благотворительным пожертвованием, за которое вы бы ничего, кроме благодарности, не получили.

Но представьте, что выбранный вами проект имеет собственный токен, который привязан к формуле Bonding Curve. За свое пожертвование вы получаете пропорциональное количество токенов, которые дают вам право принимать участие в управлении проектом. Вы буквально становитесь акционером, который имеет долю в данном предприятии и может принимать решения в проекте своими голосами, выраженными в токенах.

Если решения принимаются правильные и проект успешно функционирует (в нашем случае спасает котиков), то он привлекает новых участников, которые хотят к нему присоединиться. Они вносят средства в проект и тоже получают токены, количество которых также рассчитывается в соответствие с текущим положением кривой. Больше взносов – больше спасенных животных – больше известность проекта – больше взносов. И так далее.

Публичный контракт Bonding Curve упрощает привлечение новых инвесторов в проект. Когда деньги собираются под “обещания и честное слово”, достаточно сложно убедить человека в будущем успехе, если он не знаком с участниками проекта. Но в случае с Bonding Curve вера в проект поддерживается сама по себе. Проверить наличие участников легко, а значит на проект уже посмотрели много пар глаз и поверили в него. В проекте можно принимать участие.

Общественный договор считает приемлемым, что часть благотворительных пожертвований тратится не только на спасение котиков. Проекту нужно вести бухгалтерию, арендовать офис, нанимать юристов и заниматься обычной корпоративной деятельностью. Более того, проекту нужно как-то благодарить своих меценатов. Обычно в качестве такой благодарности организуются фуршеты, приемы и прочие мероприятия, как правило затратные. Чем больше пожертвования – тем дороже фуршет. Но зачем меценату, который действительно переживает о редких животных, видеть, что его деньги пошли на выступление артистов и бутерброды на фуршете? Если мы хотим отблагодарить человека, запустившего благое дело, и мы признаем, что можем на это тратить деньги из бюджета проекта – давайте разрешим ему просто продать свои токены, полностью или частично. И мы можем рассчитывать, что на вырученные средства он начнет еще много хороших проектов ибо репутацию свою он уже доказал.

Первые меценаты получили токены проекта по цене P1 (на графике выше). В дальнейшем в проект приходят новые участники. Их пожертвования вызывают рост цены токена, например, до уровня P2. Меценаты, которые пришли в проект раньше, получают пропорциональный рост стоимости своего портфеля. Ранние участники на тот же объем вложенных средств получают больше голосов для управления проектом, что в случае успешного проекта – правильно.

Чем раньше ты вошел в проект, тем ценнее твой вклад в общее дело и тем выше стоимость твоих токенов. Это справедливо!

Когда первые участники видят, что проект успешен, он работает и привлекает новых членов, они могут решить выйти из проекта. В самом упрощенном варианте им доступна продажа токенов обратно в контракт Bonding Curve. Во время этой продажи токены уничтожаются, а меценатам выплачивается пропорциональный объем денежных средств в соответствие с ценой токена, установившейся на текущий момент.

Вспомним, что данный проект создается для реальной цели – решения конкретной общественно значимой задачи. Поэтому в контракте Bonding Curve может закладываться комиссия – часть поступлений средств от меценатов автоматически отправляется в бюджет проекта и используется только для основной цели. Оставшаяся часть поступлений остается в депозите Bonding Curve и используется для обеспечения ликвидности самого токена. Какая-то комиссия может собираться и при выходе участников из проекта.

В итоге, независимо от мотивации конкретного человека или группы людей, используя экономические и социальные механизмы одновременно, мы смогли получить финансирование для важной общественной задачи во благо будущего. Люди, поверившие в проект и помогавшие ему с момента старта, получают преимущество в виде более высокой капитализации своего вклада по сравнению с участниками “второй, третьей и последующих волн”. Мы совместили благую цель и желание людей заработать – и достигли успеха. При этом, независимо от того, проходят новые участники или выходят старые, в бюджет проекта поступает финансирование. Такая модель называется моделью непрерывного финансирования public good.

Криптоэкономика – это не только смарт-контракт и математика, но и идея, заложенная в маркетинг. Вокруг одних и тех же Bonding Curves можно выстроить и схему Ponzi и концепцию Public good.

Параллельно с этим, блокчейн помогает решить еще одну главную проблему всех коллективных финансовых инструментов – проблему доверия. Так как весь функционал Bonding Curve открыт, автоматизирован и запущен в виде неостановимого механизма на основе крипто-протоколов, то в данном случае абсолютно не важно, доверяете ли вы другим участникам проекта или нет. Вы можете быть уверены, что вы получите свои вложения ровно на тех условиях, которые были описаны изначальной программой.

Можно сказать, что совмещение математического алгоритма из крипто-сферы и реальной задачи из обычной “нецифровой” жизни дает нам прекрасный пример успешной коллаборации.

Public good и Augmented Web

Именно этим успешно занимается проект – Dapplets Project. Мы берем положительно зарекомендовавшие себя и проработанные механизмы из крипто и применяем их к сайтам традиционного интернета. Наша основная цель – дать пользователю инструменты для формирования собственной картины мира, независимой от воли третьих лиц.

Что мы делаем? Мы позволяем создавать и запускать небольшие программы (апплеты) на любом сайте. Эти апплеты делаются на базе крипто-технологий и являются неостановимыми и децентрализованными (decentralized applets = dapplets). Запущенные однажды, они будут работать всегда.

Зачем мы это делаем? Как обычно – чтобы сделать мир (ну ладно – интернет) чуточку лучше. Сегодня собственник сайта полностью владеет вниманием пользователя и показывает ему только то, что сам считает нужным. И пользователь остается с этой информацией один-на-один, не зная, чему ему верить, а чему – нет. Однако, с помощью подключенного дапплета, пользователь может получить требуемую ему информацию в виде коллективного знания ровно в тот момент и в том месте, когда и где она ему понадобится.

Второй причиной нашей работы является желание обеспечить свободу не только говорить, но – слышать то, что пользователю интересно. В современном мире коллективных медиа зачастую подавляется не только свобода слова конкретного человека. Гораздо чаще страдает “свобода слуха”, когда пользователь просто не может получить информацию, которая ему интересна. Если от сети отлучают одного человека, это ущемляет ТОЛЬКО ЕГО право (мы не заявляем, что это хорошо). Но если человек становится недоступен для тысяч (или миллионов) своих подписчиков, то количество ущемленных “прав слышать то, что им интересно” становится просто огромным.

Наши дапплеты позволяют формировать собственные ленты, собранные из интересных пользователю источников. При этом, пользователь может получать информацию ровно в том месте и в тот момент, где и когда ему удобно. Если он считает, что ему не хватает видео из Youtube в Твиттере, можно сделать дапплет, которой обеспечит ему это. Если пользователь хочет, чтобы его посты никогда не удалялись модераторами платформы, можно сделать дапплет, который будет автоматически сохранять все его публикации в децентрализованные хранилища, а потом – показывать их всем подписчикам. Независимо от мнения администраторов соцсетей.

Вариантов применения нашей технологии множество. Мы называем ее аугментированным веб, потому что мы формируем дополнительный слой информации поверх традиционного интернета. Наша технология работает как VR-очки, которые показывают носителю изображения дополненной реальности поверх реальности настоящей. Сейчас мы находимся в самом начале нашего пути, но уже понимаем, что это - новый “синий океан” для web.

Платформа Dapplets Project создается как open-source и permissionless проект, доступный пользователям всего мира в любое время и не требующий никаких разрешений для использования. Каждый желающий может стать его активным участником – как пользователем, так и разработчиком приложений на нашей платформе. Сила проекта – его комьюнити. Levels of UX Augmenting

What is the Dapplets Project made of?

Our platform consists of three levels of applications.

The first level is the core of the platform, a browser plugin responsible for the basic functionality, loading and operation of subsequent modules.

The second level is the adapter for the site or content type. This is a fairly large module responsible for working with a particular site.

The adapter defines the set of available augmentations and inserts them into the website at predefined places at the dapplet's request.

Adapter is like the video card driver for the hardware on your computer.

The third level is the dapplet level.

A dapplet is a small application that performs one business task.

Since all the complex and low-level work is done in the adapter, we can keep the dapplet code as simple as possible. A dapplet usually contains no more than 100 lines of code. This makes its audit much easier and ensures its safety for the user.

When working with the site, the adapter determines the ways and types of possible augmentations, while dapplet determines the augmentation type and functionality.

Fractal Augmentations

The idea of a fractal lies in recursive self-similarity. Zoom-in gives a picture that is different in detail but follows the same principles.

The idea of Fractal Augmentation follows a similar principle. Augmentation becomes a target for further augmentations of higher order.

For example, one augmentation adds an entire block of content, a tweet, or a post to a page (1).

A second augmentation might add to that block a button that performs some kind of action (2).

The third augmentation can add some kind of indicator or label to the button, which shows that the status of a task has changed or that there are new notifications (3).

One dapplet can add to the currency ticker a button, responsible for buying or selling on one of the exchanges. And the other is to display on this button the corresponding exchange rate of that currency or data about its dynamics.

And so on...

It turns out to be a kind of fractal. That's why we call such a structure fractal.

What can we augment?

What are the types of augmentations and what can we do?

We divide each site into different elements and can work with each of the elements separately.

What elements does a site consist of?

• The entire site, individual page, content block, menu, text, link, button, and multimedia.
• Different types of text (headings, links, numbers, and addresses).
• Different types of media – for example, profile pictures, videos or images..

To all this, we can add statuses, ratings, badges, graphics, comments, and so on. We can add buttons and controls with new functionality.

We also know how to link social network sites and crypto accounts with each other and manage them together.

We would like to say that augmentation possibilities depend only on developers' imagination and availability of data to be displayed. We provide all the infrastructure to implement these fantasies.

Dapplet Infrastructure

It is important for a Dapplet to be a small-size application because of necessary security audit. It implies a powerful infrastructure providing basic functionality.

Dapplets Platform already implemented some parts of it and others are planned:

• Wallet Connection allows Dapplet to access multiple Crypto Wallets.
• Linked Account Subsystem allows to track accounts and resources belonging to the same user.
• Structured DataSource allows linking backend to the augmenting elements.
• Tagging Subsystem allows easy to create open categories for augmented content (TBD)

Role Model & Economics

Our community is built on the principles of self-organization and assumes several roles within it.

Each of the roles is economically motivated to participate.

We see the following roles within the platform: users, owners, developers, listers, and auditors.

Users install and use dapplets since these dapplets solve their own problems and provide the functionality they need.

Developers write and publish apps because they help drive their business processes or can be monetized through user acquisition.

Auditors review the app's code and are responsible for making sure it’s safe for the end user. They can be rewarded by both developers and end users.

Listers are a special role unknown in the classical web.

Because our apps are published in decentralized repositories, they are all available to any user: unfiltered and uncensored. But how will the user know which apps are useful for him and which are not?

Therefore, you get a lister of your choice, whose job is to select the most interesting apps and make a list of them. Popular listers can be rewarded by developers for listing their apps.

The internal token and other cryptocurrencies can be used to make mutual financial settlements within the system. The economy of the system is self-regulating and is built on popular crypto economic patterns, like TCRs, Bonding Curve, etc.

It is an "augmented reality" platform for conventional websites built on crypto technologies.

Our platform allows the user to gather information from various sources and embed it seamlessly into the pages of websites without being censored. He receives aggregated information from the entire community, all the knowledge and experience. And he gets it exactly where he needs it – at the point and time of taking a decision. This helps the user make the right decisions.

Businesses can also benefit from our platform. This is because they gain access to established communities and offer their services to those who are directly interested in them, without paying the platform the "right of access" to the community and without fear of being blocked.

Social Impact of Augmented Web

What could be the global impact of Augmented Web? Let’s try to see the whole as the integral sum of its parts.

Social media users will be able to merge their accounts on different platforms and add crypto wallets to them. It allows a worldwide decentralized reputation system and economically incentivized communities which are not limited by a single social platform. Even more, it will work for already existing communities and websites!

Users will be able to create their own news feeds from a variety of sources. They will be able to resist blocking by the platform and seamlessly broadcast their content to different social networking sites without the platform's approval.

Users get an additional level of information security and health. Just because we provide access to the collective experience of the entire community at the point of opinion formation and critical decision making, it will be almost impossible for mass media platforms to encage their users into any mental frame.

So, in such a case, social network platforms and the mass media will no longer have a critical influence on people’s minds. Instead, they would become what they should be: just a technical hoster of news and of the user generated content.

Our platform has a huge audience, and this is only a small part of the application ideas.

Business Cases

Today we're at the very beginning of the journey. The technology has been developed, but the application options are still emerging.

We see a lot of development ideas. Some of them are presented on this picture. The main areas are worth mentioning separately.

We want to change the standard workflow for many businesses.

We all know that businesses usually buy paid traffic to their landing pages, and then handle incoming leads. We're ready to help firms access targeted communities directly. Entrepreneurs will be able to offer their services where they are exactly needed.

We want to simplify the NFT experience and make it seamless. NFT creation, demonstration and trading will be integrated into the existing web.

We see great potential in organizing betting games. To achieve this, we are integrating crypto projects that work with Prediction Markets.

But this is only what we see ourselves.

Our platform is built as an open source and public good project. We delegate app development to independent developers and business owners.

Our goal is to build a complete framework for these independent developers and define the rules of community building.

Augmented Web: How it works

How does Augmented Web work?

Let's imagine a common situation: a user opens a browser and visits a site. The browser displays the data received from the server.

The server is under the control of the website owner, and today the browser shows what the owner wants (and doesn't show anything he doesn't want).

But the browser itself is under user control and that's the key to solving the problem.

We add to the browser an augmentation engine that embeds small apps, called dapplets, directly into the website page.

These dapplets are stored in decentralized repositories and are also unstoppable – no one can remove or disable them.

The user receives information from different sources at a time - the site content from the site owner, and its interpretation from any third-party sources he chooses for himself. This augmentation would be seamless and contextualized.

Let's see how this all works from the inside.

Let's take a look at a site and some dapplets that we want to embed in its context.

Our platform consists of several adapters responsible for working with content, the overlay panel, the core, and the dapplets themselves.

The adapters are responsible for embedding certain elements like buttons, badges, and other controls, into site pages.

Content Adapter is responsible for embedding widgets in the right place on the website. It is responsible for all low-level work with the website.

ViewPort Adapter handles widgets attached to an application window, not to a specific site. For example, they might be floating buttons.

Virtual Adapter allows you to work with specific sites or categories of sites. We can have an adapter for Twitter, or a single adapter for a social networking site. Virtual Adapter gives you a single interface to work with different Content Adapters.

Overlay panel is a sidebar that allows you to display additional advanced information as needed.

The core is responsible for additional functionality such as connecting wallets, authorization and other services needed for the convenience and management of the platform.

Let's see what this looks like with a real-life example.

This is a Twitter page. We have added a bunch of dapplets to it.

In this example, there are two buttons built into the menu, label and badges on profile image, post selection, "Fake" sticker and others.

It's important to understand that we only embed small elements into the page; these elements don't break the integrity of the website or spoil its UX.

All additional functionality is placed on the overlay panel, which opens with a click on a particular dapplet.

We do not change the user's usual UX. All he sees before him is the parent site with some added elements in its design.

If we open the app itself, we can enable or disable the dapplets linked to this site or configure their operation.

Crypto Inside

Now let's talk about why we are a crypto project.

The work of our platform is based on several crypto technologies, so it cannot be stopped or prohibited by 3-rd party.

We are using blockchain for saving dapplets registries. At this point we work with Ethereum and Near networks.

We are using decentralized storage, like Swarm, IPFS and Arweave for hosting dapplets code and multimedia.

We have our own crypto-economy based on well-known patterns, like Token Curated Registries, Prediction Markets etc.

We are a true crypto project! Our augmentations are decentralized, unstoppable, permissionless and token-incentivized.

It's no secret that we all live in a world dominated by social media.

Every social media platform controls our minds by controlling our attention completely. Social media dictates what we say, what we watch, who we should listen to and who we shouldn’t. Smart algorithms are effectively shaping our smart feeds, and so on.

Social media owns more than just the content. We acknowledge that social media platforms own all the members and all the communities within them.

So why is this the case?

The social media platform itself decides how to use personal data, which services to allow, and which businesses to let in.

Whatever useful content you create, you have no say within the social network site; your wishes and desires don't matter, they are irrelevant.

Is this a good thing? We don't think so.
Is this acceptable? Well, as long as there's no alternative, then you have no choice. Our platform, the Dapplets Project, offers you such an alternative.

The year 2020 was the year of deplatforming

The year 2020 was the year of deplatforming. A special word was even invented for this :-)

Millions of people were denied access to receiving information from those they were interested in. This was a violation of not only the right to free speech, but even the right to freely listen to what one is interested in.

People who are unplugged don't even get the opportunity to tell their followers where to find them.

All they have left is to go to the town square to shout until they are picked up for disorderly conduct. They have no other channels of communication left.

Social Media Owns Your Opinion

Censorship and politics form an information bubble from which it's very difficult to escape. You're deprived of the chance not only to express yourself, but to even form your own opinion.

So why is this happening?

Social media controls your attention completely. Internal algorithms and rules decide what to show you and what not.

It's difficult for you to change this paradigm.

In order to get information from another source, you’ll have to go beyond social media. This requires proactive action. For the ordinary user, it’s much easier to remain attached to a single source of information despite its bias and restrictions.

Media Monopoly =

A monopoly on audience attention leads to abuse of that monopoly.

The social platform becomes a conduit for one point of view or another, usually politically or socially biased.

If you aren’t afraid of losing a community member, you can feed him any bullshit, he will swallow it all.

When you’re tied to one social network site, you would feel there are no other opinions apart from those propagated on that platform.

You find yourself in an Orwellian universe where something exists, but you're forbidden to think about it. This is nothing but doublethink... in a new form.

But remember, if an effort is required to achieve a goal, people usually tend to throw in the towel, remaining where they are. They would rather pretend that everything is OK even when such abnormality is so glaring.

Owner of the platform owns the entire community

Social media monopoly has another side.

Such a social network site or platform has monopoly access to a community of people. Only the platform decides which goods and services will be available to that community and which will not.

This means that this platform can forcibly extract unreasonably high profits from users' pockets.

Businesses would have to play by the rules of the platform. They spend much of their profits not on paying for the services of that platform, but just to have access to users, who are nothing but some kind of property belonging to the platform.

Now let’s imagine a model where a business has direct access to an already established community. Let’s assume that the goods and services being offered by that business are exactly what the members of that community desire.

Don’t you think that business would definitely make a lot of money?

You would most likely say that’s a dreamworld, wouldn’t you? : -)

Web3 as a new paradigm

In 2014, Ethereum came up with the idea of a "world computer. That's when the idea of Web3, the new Internet, was born.

The world computer (and the world internet) were supposed to have new functions:

• decentralization
• disintermediation
• permissionless
• trustless resilience

But what exactly did Ethereum co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, propose should be made decentralized and unstoppable? He proposed making servers decentralized and the code they execute unstoppable.

This decentralization hardly touched the ordinary user.

The need for decentralization for the end user was not obvious.

Beneficiaries of decentralization

So, who is to benefit from the decentralization proposed by Ethereum?

Users cannot benefit from the technology directly. App developers and owners were the direct beneficiaries.

All the benefits for the user depend on the goodwill of the app owner. If there is goodwill and the app, relatively speaking, is good, then the user wins.

But if the app owner misleads users and promotes a malicious project, then everyone, except the owner, loses.

And his app remains unstoppable, just as Buterin proposed. The situation becomes even worse than before because no police would be able to stop an unstoppable fraud application.

2017 The ICO Craze

The ICO explosion began in 2017. Just within two years, there were more than 3000 ICOs that raised over 20 billion US dollars.

Technically, everything worked perfectly, but there was also the other side of the coin.

Money was raised by projects that had unrealistic goals, projects with dishonest token economics. Put simply, behind such projects were scammers. The projects disappeared, withdrew profits, or just spent it on their own needs.

As a result, almost 90% of the projects ended up with negative returns for their investors.

In today's crypto world, it’s believed that the user takes all financial decisions independently and assesses all risks himself.

Slogans like:

DYOR - Do your own research!

Don’t trust, verify!

are just only a few examples of this paradigm.

So, what if:

you make a mistake in assessing risks?
or you send money to scammers?
or the project just disappears (with the money of course)?
or the token has an unlimited supply (not in your favor) and so on and so forth?

then it's entirely your fault and mistake.

It's hard to argue with that statement. We're in a financial industry where there’s no regulator, and all actions taken are irreversible.

But isn't that too much to ask of the average crypto wallet user?

Due Diligence: Mission Impossible

It turns out that the crypto community in all seriousness believes that their average member:

• can audit a smart contract and run his own node;
• has and knows how to use hardware wallets;
• is a guru both in economics and in IT security at the same time

And most importantly, he has the time for all this.

These are totally unrealistic expectations…

We want mass adoption of crypto technologies, but then we are expecting to have not a user, but rather a real Superman.

That's quite naive expectations, aren't they?

We scare off some users with the complexity of all the crypto procedures. The brave and self-confident fall into the hands of scammers and lose their money.

The main problem here is, crypto applications are decentralized but the information we get about them is located on legacy centralized sites fully controlled by the owners of the same application in question.

The website of any app or financial service is always owned by the owner of that app. Information contained on such a site would most probably show only the benefits of that project.

Anyone who visits the website of a scam project might get into a sophisticated and well-thought-out sales funnel and there would be no way for him to get out of it without outside help.

Summary of Decentralization

From all that has been said, several conclusions can be drawn:

1. Decentralization makes it possible for any application to run unstoppable, no matter whether it is…. in quotes….. good or bad.
2. Users are not the beneficiaries of Web3, their benefit depends only on the performance of a particular app
3. Outwardly, it's very difficult to recognize a malicious app. Its owner has complete control over the UX and user's attention
4. Verification is the product of continuous and collective effort by the entire community, it is not the private responsibility of a single individual.
5. Continuous and collective effort requires an organizational infrastructure

And yes, we still need to stop the unstoppable app)
