MetaMask adds anti-scam feature

A couple of months ago, a wave of “setApprovalForAll” phishing swept through, which made it possible for scammers to withdraw all tokens from the victim’s wallet.

MetaMask released an update to 10.18.0 (and then 10.18.1), which upgraded the announcement that we see before signing transactions.

Previously, signed permissions were reflected in general terms, but now they will be more detailed and understandable to ordinary users, for example, “By signing a transaction, you allow access to all your funds”

It's good that MM is working to simplify our lives, but don't forget that scammers are cunning and agile. Always stay alert and carefully check your actions in the crypto world, it is ruthless.

Instruction

1) Click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the browser and then to settings.Инструкция

2) Choosing extensions

3) Find Metamask and select Details

4) We see that we do not have the latest version. Click on the switch to developer mode.

5) And choose to update

6) Done! Version 10.18.0 installed

MetaMask выпустил обновление 10.18.0 (и следом 10.18.1), в котором проапгрейдил объявление, которое мы видим перед подписанием транзакций.

Ранее подписываемые разрешения отражались обобщенно, теперь же они будут более детальны и понятны обычным юзерам, например, «Подписывая транзакцию, вы разрешаете получить доступ ко всем вашим средствам»

Хорошо, что MM работает над упрощением нашей жизни, но не стоит забывать, что скамеры хитры и проворны. Всегда оставайтесь начеку и тщательно проверяйте свои действия в крипто-мире, он безжалостен.

Инструкция

1. Нажимаете на три точки в правом верхнем углу браузера и далее в настройки.

Выбираем расширения

Находим Metamask и выбираем Детали

Видим, что у нас не последняя версия. Нажимаем на переключатель в режим разработчика.

И выбираем обновить

Готово! Версия 10.18.0 установлена

Чтобы нагляднее проиллюстрировать пример выше давайте обратимся к такому инструменту, как Marsbase калькулятор. С помощью него вы сможете высчитать потерю от сделки. Давайте попробуем.

2) Находим секцию с кальком (три скрола вниз)

Вводим необходимые параметры сделки — 67000 ETH и жмём Сalculate

Попадаем на второй шаг. Здесь видим, что потеря на CEX составит 18% (!), потеря на DEX составит 6.6%.

На последнем экране платформа показывает сколько вы сэкономите, если сделаете премию определенного размера. Важно понимать, что даже, если вы сделаете премию 5%, то все равно останетесь в хорошем плюсе на миллион долларов. А вы можете сделать премию и 1-2-3%. Это на ваше усмотрение и зависит только от рынка и того, как быстро вы хотите совершить сделку.
