So, we all know about discord, but you want to make your own server. It's a great thing, a nice free chat room with almost unlimited organization, webhooks, bots, and more, though there's one issue everyone has. Where do I begin?
*note I change between "guild" and "server", but they mean the same thing.

Creating a Server

I bet you've noticed that if you were to scroll down to the bottom of your server list you see something that looks like this:

We have that safari icon, and the plus sign. Choose the plus sign, this will prompt you to create a server.

It's tempting to use the templates already there, but they basically provide you with almost nothing, and none of them includes pre-made roles and permissions for them. So you'll be clicking on the "Create My Own" button.

Yes, it is painstakilingly light mode, Discord hasn't bothered to make a dark mode version....

Wait where's my server?
Discord added this section where it prompts you to make it "For a club or community" or "For me and my friends", then there is the hyperlink at the bottom that says "skip this question". Choose the hyper ink that says "skip this question".

After Selecting this you'll notice that you have a perfectly plank server that is yours for the making! You may feel overwhelmed with all the ideas you have and everything you want to implement on you server, it's okay I'll help keep your ideas in check, and doing them in order.

Creating Roles

There are two things to take into consideration when making your roles, this is PRIORITY and POWER. These usually go hand-in-hand but in some occasions they don't.

Priority

The aspect of priority is that the higher the role is the more people would want it, even if it doesn't have mod or admin capabilities. For example, on most servers there is usually a role for server boosters that is right below the moderators. People want this role since it's higher up, this will encourage server boosting, even though it doesn't have admin or moderation powers.

Power

Power is the aspect of HAVING moderation and admin capabilities. This is pretty simple to wrap your head around, these roles are usually the top most role, although take for example a "police/assistant" role. This role is not displayed separately like the server booster role, however, it has power, it allows these people to kick, ban, and manage roles.

Alright, I taught you about priority and power, now to actually make some roles. Looking at the top-left area you'll see your server's name, and a small arrow that is pointing up, select the arrow to open a drop down member. In the drop down there's an option called "Server Settings", select it.

I highly suggest quickly scrolling down to the bottom in "Overview" and changing it to "Only @mentions" before continuing.

You will see a side panel that holds all of the background options for your server.
The second option (underneath the "Overview option) is one called "Roles", select it.
After going to the "Roles" section you'll see the permissions for @everyone, disable everything there, except for "Read Text Channels & See Voice Channels", "Send Messages", and "Read Message History". This will be helpful for anti-raid, and quarantine situations that I'll cover later on.

~(skip this if you don't want a verification system)~
There is a little "+" sign next to the word "ROLES" at the top (above where @everyone is), by clicking on this this will make you a brand new generic role. Label this role "members" or whatever term you want to use for the people that join your server. I suggest toggling each option to your liking so you don't have to go back later and change it for whatever reason(s).

Other Roles

There are some basic roles I suggest you create right now before moving on.

Admin
This role is ver simple to make, it's high in priority and power, drag it to the top of your roles, and simply toggle the following switches.

Administrator

Display role separately from online members

Allow anyone to @mention this role

This will get rid of your crown, but it's nice to have extra backup if needed.

Mod
Similar to Admin, but with less abilities. Drag this role so it's below everything, and give it the following permissions:

Display role separately from online members

Manage Roles

Kick members

Ban members

Manage nicknames

Manage emojis

Manage Web Hooks

Mute Members

Server Booster
Place below admin and toggle

Display role separately from online members

Creating Channels

Maybe you just want a temporary guild with only a #General and General VC. This post is not for that, this is for making a ROBUST THICK BEEFY STRONG SERVER. We're going to go on and keep making our server.

Category
For the category and channels we are making it'll be the basic ones like, suggestions, Admin-chat, rules, and announcements
To make a category, right click on the channel panel and click "Create Category". Make it private so only the @members role can read, I suggest doing this for any category your create, that way you can implement a verification system.

If you don't want a Verification system, I suggest not making the category private.

You can change the settings of the category by right clicking on the category name in the panel with all the channels+categories and clicking on "edit category". This will make it so that any new channel created under that category is default set to those permissions.

Channel
To make a channel go to the category you made, and click that little + sign. You'll be prompted to name the new channel you want to create. On you newly created channel you can open settings by clicking on the cog, or gear.

Starting
When deciding where to start, think about where you start when you join a server, act as if you're one of the members that just joined your guild.
Here's a list of where you should start.

Rules

Verification

Announcements

Memes

These types of channels can be used to make any other type of channel you want, consider these as the "bases".

Rules

There are a few ways you can format your rules, plain text, code block, file, or embed. I want to tell you right now to NEVER do plain text or file. It's dull, no one wants to download rules, plain text is not appealing.

Rules - Embed
Go to DiscoHook and read a bit, then hit clear all, make an embed.
Here is an example of Ripped's embed that I made.
This requires knowledge about web hooks, I'll cover more about this another time.

Example from Ripped.

Rules - Code Block
We know about the ability to do something like

none

But, these code blocks can be used to color things.
My go-to is
css
but you can play around with other languages if you want.

Private server

Verification Channel

~(skip this if you want to)~

This requires a bot and for this blog post I'll be using YAGPDB.xyz and DiscoHook, You don't have to use an embed, it just looks nicer. Watch this video or just refer to the docs on it here.

After making a role group with ONLY THE MEMBER ROLE it's pretty straight shooting.

Embed
Go to DiscoHook and send an embed that looks something like this:

You can also use the rules message you made earlier, to make sure the new user reads the rules.

Now that you have the message you need to get the id of the message. (you need to enable developer mode) This is pretty easy, just click the three in the top-right area of the message an click on "Copy ID".

Easy

Now thanks to the simplistic power of YAGPDB we can run this command and be all done:
-rolemenu create <group name> -m <message id>
. Once you have finished completing the role/verification menu, any user that selects that button will now be given the member role.

-(IMPORTANT)-
Have @everyone have no permissions but to "Read messages" and "Read message history" in you rules, and announcements channel.
Use your members role as the base role instead, let them read and send message in general, not @everyone

Announcements Channel 1 (Enabling Community)

~(NOT FOR GUILDS THAT WANT TO BE PRIVATE AFTER 10,000 MEMBERS)~

Go to your server's settings and go to "Enable Community". This will prompt you to do a thing or two first, like making an admin channel, based off what I showed you already this is completely doable for you!

Make a new channel, before you continue though set the channel type to "Announcements". Make sure though that no one can type in it. (since admins can do anything they want you don't have to add perms for the admin role!)
Now your members can choose to have your Announcements channel show up in their own guild! (This is by clicking the "Follow" button) This will help promote you server massively, since the further you reach out, the more members you'll get.

You can ping @everyone for every post that way the people on your server gets notified of import things.

Announcements Channel 2 (Alternate Solutions and More)

Base
Make a normal channel, make sure no one can type in it. This is essentially the same as an announcements channel with enabled community, but people can not "follow" it.

You can combine some of these together, like embed and @announcement pings.

Option 1: Message Normal text
This is just a normal concept, you write you message and send it, nothing fancy

Option 2: Message Code Block
You could use ```css like I mentioned in the Rules section.

Option 3: Message Embed
DiscoHook is a great idea, just make sure that you keep the color, title, and whatevers the same! You can save it in the "Backups" option at the top.

Option 1: Ping @everyone
Every message you could do @everyone

Option 2: Ping @announcement/@notifications
Make a role menu so people can give themselves a role, which has no priority or power, that you can ping instead of @everyone. This is much preferred among your members so that the ones who don't want to be pinged, don't get pinged.

Option 3: Ping Automatic
I'll be using glorious YAGPDB for this, but essentially you can use a sticky message. This will make it so whenever you send a message, it'll ping, or have whatever content you want.
To get a role ID you need to go roles in settings, and right click on the role and select "copy ID" Format:
<@ROLEID>

You'll have to make a new custom command in the YAGPDB control panel, be sure to set the command type to regex.

{{/* Trigger. .*
Trigger Type: Regex
Usage: Just type :)  Made by TheHDCrafter#0001*/}}

{{$message :=print "text"}}{{/*edit anything in this line after -print-*/}}
{{$db := dbGet .Channel.ID "stickymessage"}}
{{if $db}}
      {{deleteMessage nil (toInt $db.Value) 0}}
      {{$id := sendMessageRetID nil $message}}
      {{dbSet .Channel.ID "stickymessage" (str $id)}}
{{else}}
      {{$id := sendMessageRetID nil $message}}
      {{dbSet .Channel.ID "stickymessage" (str $id)}}
{{end}}

Memes Channel

Make a channel and name it "memes". You'll only have to toggle three things for the members role (or everyone if you're not doing verification), you can leave the rest un-toggled if you want.

Read Message

Send Messages

Read Message history

This will make a basic channel that you members can chat in and post their memes, although I'll take it one step further for you.

Reddit Feed(s)
There are a couple bots that do this, but I'll be using YAGPDB here.
Navigate yourself to the "Reddit" section in the YAGPDB control panel. From there simply configure the reddit feed as you wish, I recommend r/dankmemes or r/memes. This will have the bots occasionally post a meme from the subreddit, when a posts hits enough upvotes, or when there is a new post.

I also suggest adding Dank Memer since I bet you know the iconic command
pls meme
.

Promoting Your Community

Amazing! You have you brand new server, now to get out into the world.

Advertisement Channels

On some of the servers you are on you may notice that there is a channel called "Advertising" post you channel in there, usually you get a few people.

Friends/Word of Mouth

Invite your friends! If you can, ask them to share the server among what servers they may be on.

Website

My personal favorite; you can use Google Sites, Wix, SquareSpace, or even host you own! A website is a great way to show off your server and what it does.

Members+

This is a discord bot, that adds members to your server. I'm not a fan although it works really well, you should earn you reputation, not have a bot do it all for you.

Thank you for reading, I really appreciate it. Any comments on what I should write next, anything you want help with, or know more about I'll likely do it!

I'll write about Discord, Discord Bots, piracy, Write a review for you guild, basically anything on Discord or piracy.

While with my setup, i didn't pay anything for the monitors, you might have to pay for them. So the question is do you actually need 3 of the same or different monitors?

The answer is: if you are a PRODUCTIVITY CHAD like me, yes, i use the right monitor for discord, the left for qBittorrent or Spotify (depends) and the middle for you know, stuff.

If you just wanna do some gaming while keeping track of your friends then just get 2 monitors or if you are REALLY strapped for cash use 1 monitor with the Discord Overlay
(stinky).

I did some tests on power consumption (PC is on a different breaker) and my whole setup (3 monitors and some led bulb light) and i would say it turned out pretty good:

100w just idling with wallpaper

120w with white light

forgot to mention, monitors are: a SAMSUNG LT24D390 in the center, a benQ FP71G+ on the left, and a ACER X223HQ on the right

I’ve always had the question from clients “Should I get 1660 super or should I just invest my money on an RTX 2060 super card”

Well it is more of a question of, what results you want. If you’re someone who really wants max settings on every game on 1080p 100FPS +, then you’ll probably want an RTX card. But, let’s dive right in to the 1660 super and what we can expect out of this card.

Now, I wanted to test the 1660 super on a personal level as I have sold a ton of these. but I have never really owned one. All my opinions that I have given to customers are all based on research, but I’ve figured why not test an actual 1660 super card. Or better yet. Let’s get the cheapest 1660 super card possible (In the Philippines) and see what you’re getting for 250 USD (13,000 PHP/360 AUD)

What we have right now is THE PALIT GEFORCE GTX 1660 SUPER STORM X

So, what does this card look like how the temperatures, performance and size are.

As you can see on this image. The Palit Storm X is a mini PCB card, that was made for small builds such as Mini ITX or Micro ATX. The card has a size of 168x122x40mm. how big is it? Well here’s a picture of the actual card that I’ve bought.

For this test I’ve used my spare test system a modest Ryzen 5 2600(3.6ghz no OC), an Asus Prime A320 motherboard, 16GB of 3200mhz Corsair RGB Pro memory, Crucial BX500 240GB SSD and a Seasonic 620 Watt Bronze fully Modular power supply.

The card fits really well even if I wasn’t using a MicroATX system and went with the console like build mini ITX cases this card will definitely fit.

Now, on to temperatures.

For my first test I tried maxing the GPU load using 3d mark firestrike.

The GPU maxes out at only 73 Degrees at a maximum of 125 Watts. Nvidia’s new 16 series cards are very power efficient thanks to DDR6’s architecture.

So what about gaming? The most important question of them all. Well here are some results that I’ve tested. (didn’t really post screenshots just recorded the average framerates I was too lazy because it’s 4 games) everything has been tested at 1920x1080 144hz. please take note that these are rough estimates accurate results will vary per system configuration

For GTA V at ultra-settings and x4AA (yes I didn’t max it out) and Nvidia PCSS enabled I was getting a minimum of 60 FPS and an average of 68 FPS and the highest I’ve seen was 95 FPS. Running the game at high settings would give you an average of 75 FPS which is a better option in my opinion.

For Witcher 3 at ultra-settings (Nvidia Hair AA disabled) we were getting an average of 75 FPS, a maximum of 83 and a minimum of 54.

For Red Dead Redemption 2 at ultra-settings everything maxed out we were getting an average of 45 FPS a minimum of 40 and a maximum of 50. One thing to note on this game is that even at low frame rates the game seems to be running very smooth but, I know most of you want the 60 FPS love. So how do we achieve 60 fps? Well it’s hard to say… if you lower down to medium, we get an average of 50, a minimum of 40 and a maximum of 86. So, asking for a steady 60 fps on this game is possible but at low settings and it’s not something that’s worth it in my opinion. 50 fps at medium is completely playable, looks great and something that most will enjoy.

Lastly, Rainbow Six Siege. Now I don't play this game, so I had a friend of mine join in (Thanks Glenn). At ultra-settings I was getting an average of 170 Frames per second. It was difficult to really find a minimum because the frame rate was all over the place, but I can assure you it maintained 100 +FPS. This game is not demanding to begin with but it’s a good reference for e-sport titles and what to expect when using this card.

now, with all these results in mind... most current generation games can be played at a minimum of 60 FPS with this card which was what NVIDIA intended. now not at ultra but it's safe to say high to ultra. this card is definitely a 1080p power house especially considering it's price. "but Gio, Palit's card looks ugly are their alternatives?" of course! there's a ton of 1660 super variants that look really good. I've sold two 1660 super gigabyte triple fan cards and they look amazing. Palit also has a dual fan version as well. the only reason why I picked the storm x was I wanted the cheapest variant. now to the original question, is it better to just skip this card and proceed to an RTX 2060 super? well... if ultra is a must for you at 1920x1080 the 2060 super will deliver. if you research on it's benchmarks you'll definitely see that the RTX 2060 super is at least much more powerful by 30% in most games than the 1660 super but, it also requires more wattage. so it's really a question of how much are you willing to spend. the 1660 super is in my humble opinion is a good enough card for 1080p. but if you want extra performance then the rtx 2060 super will deliver. we're looking at least a price difference of 8,000 php(165 USD or 220 AUD). so it will depend on you if the extra 30 percent performance is worth the 165 USD or 220 AUD. please be aware I am measuring in my country's prices. for most people the difference of 8,000 php or 165 USD can be allocated with better RAM, more SSD capacity or even a better motherboard. so it depends on your priority.

now here are the specs for this card (for the nerds)

MEMORY - 6 GB OF DDR6

Introduction:

Hello everyone, I am another red, and today I will be making a basic guide to use qBittorrent and torrent files.

First, let's understand what qBittorrent is. qBittorrent is a 'torrent client' that allows users to download files through torrents. It has a wide range of features, but of course I will not be covering everything today, but just the basics. :)

Downloading the client:

First, we will start by downloading the client. You can download the appropriate client by visiting the website here. Now, you need to select the right version. 64 bit or 32 bit.

In order to find out which one your PC supports, go to start>computer>right click on it- properties you can see the type under system type.

Now that you've found out your system type, visit the website and download the version that is appropriate. After you've successfully downloaded the client, run the file and finish the installation process.

Using the client:

Now that you've finished the installation process, it's time to start using the client. First, open the torrent client. You will be greeted with a pop-up. Select ok and continue.

Now you will get a panel like this.

As you see, I have a torrent that is 'seeding'. But since you have no active torrents, you may not see anything there.

Next you want to find a file to download, this can be anything you like! There are plenty of websites to download from, but we suggest you use 1337x.to for 'healthy torrents'. (Healthy torrents refer to the amount of users actively uploading the file, the higher the 'seed' count the healthier a torrent is).

Click on the 'magnet download' button and a popup should appear asking if you would like to open this link in qBittorrent. After clicking 'Ok', Just select the download location, and you're good to go!

What are Seeders & Peers:

While downloading files with qBittorrent, you can see the number of seeders and the number of peers connected.

Simply put, seeders are users who after downloading the file, are uploading the file to other people. That is why it's usually good to choose torrents that have more seeders.

In qBittorrent, you can see the number of seeders for your torrent under the 'Seeds' section . It is in the form of x(y) where x = people actively uploading to you, and y = total seeders, regardless of whether they are actively uploading.

Peers are the people who are connected to you and are downloading your files. After downloading your file, it is really important for you to seed it. This is because you have to give back to the community and ensure the file doesn't lose seeders, which would limit other peoples ability to download the content.

Introduction:

In this post, we will be covering broadly, on various ways to maintain google team drives which contains large TB's of data. The methods that I'll be discussing is semi private and not many know about it. This post will be split into 4 sections namely:

1- Getting Free Unlimited Team Drives

2- Torrenting to Team Drives Directly via Google Colab

3- Some Good File Management Software

4- Creating A Google Drive Index

Part-1: How to get an unlimited google team drive

Now, there are many places where you can get a good google team drive. However, many do not last properly, and it's always best to use an .edu domain. Given below are some of the stable websites where you can get yourself a drive for free:

https://td.fastio.me

https://gd.zxd.workers.dev

https://team.gdrive.vip

https://gdrive.vip (Paid .edu drive)

Always remember to use a .edu or a non profit domain name. If you can't understand the language use the google translate extension.

Note: It is always recommended to take a backup and create 2 drives of a different domain to your email. That way, if one dies, you always have another drive of a different school/domain.

Access drive at https://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/shared-drives

Part-2: How to torrent to your Team drive directly via google Colab:

Now, for those of you who don't know, google colab is a famous platform for people to test their code easily. However, we will be re-purposing it such that we use Google's blazing fast cloud servers to directly torrent to our drive. Now, follow the steps carefully.

Step-1: First, go to https://www87.zippyshare.com/v/1g2f0lrj/file.html and then download the notebook. Then upload it in colab and open it.

Note: Go to Runtime -> change runtime type -> GPU.

Step-2: Now, run the first code block. Wait for it to finish installing.

Step-3: Run the second code block. Wait for it to to output a link. Next, open the link copy the access code and paste it in the box.

Step-4: Now, this is the important part.Skip 3rd block. In the 4th code block [Magnet], change the location to

"save_path": "/content/drive/Shared drives/[DRIVE_NAME]/Torrent" and run the code block. Now it asks a box to enter list of magnet URL's. Enter as many as you want at last box type 'Exit' and hit enter.

Step-5: Run the last code block and your good to go! Close the tab and it'll finish the job on it's own!

Part-3: Good file management software:

As a pirator, you must mount the google drive as a normal drive, and you need a way to easily upload/transfer files.

1- Attaching the drive as a network drive:

https://www.raidrive.com/

2- For transferring files easily:

https://www.airexplorer.net/en/

3- CLI Drive cloning software:

https://rclone.org/drive/

We have Airexplorer pro at our discord server. Link at bottom of post.

Part-4: Creating a drive index:

You might be wondering what a google drive index is? Well, a google drive index is used by many people to share drives that have many files. An index organises the files into an easy to access list and also supports streaming from drive.

How to create an index:

First, in order to start making your own index, you first need to create an account at Cloudflare. After you created an account, follow the steps.

First, go to this link. Next, select the 'click me' button, and copy the auth code and paste it.

Next, enter site name, and in the drive ID, enter your team drive ID as shown below:

Enter the folder ID. Leave the rest as it is and select get code. Now you will receive a code like this:

Next, copy the code and go to https://workers.cloudflare.com/ and Log in with your account. Set up the subdomain:

Select continue with free.

Then select 'create a worker'.

In the script section remove all the code and paste the code you copied.

Select save and deploy!

Now you can access the index at your subdomain and you can share it with your friends also!
