Parallels between Web2.0 & Web3.0

Sky: lam from the from the greater Seattle area in Washington USA. I got into crypto as everything was going down last time. About Feb 2022. I heard about crypto because of Illuvium and saw a trailer and was hooked.

Sense then I started up a fan website called illuvialmaster.com that has turned into a full blown nft marketplace for illuvium.

Sharkis: So you're a hardcore illuvium fan, bravo. I respect that project. I see your team, strong! So this is your main business now, no work irl? And how did you still manage to make this project together with ILV

Sky: We have a great team at illuvialmaster.com! They are a lot of fun to work with.

Currently, it is just a side project as we are not funded. I work a 9-5 job as a Senior Software Engineer. Illuvium let's people use their IP for free as long as we don't claim to have created it or have ownership of it. We currently are using a mix of illuviums apis mixed with IMX apis to create our site.

We mostly try to add value to the community through tools and insights like our estimated wallet values powered by our neural net models, this let's us not only do total wallet values but also estimated values for illuviums nfts on the market.

Sharkis: It's amazing. I take it you have a big family, right?

Sky: A wife and three kids. It's not super big, but the kids are currently 5, 3, 2. So there is never a dull moment for sure.

Sharkis: Ahhhh, that's right. I have a small family, a girlfriend and a cat ;)

Do you see any great prospects in developing together with ILV?

Sky: The greatness challenge we have probably faced thus far is getting an api with a lot of documentation from the illuvium team. They are still in closed beta at least the main game and nfts not released) so it is understandable that they prioritize finishing their game before developing extensive 3rd party

Ha ha, I think I read that wrong. You mean partnerships?

Sharkis: Yes. But I see what you mean, they have to finish their business before they do the outsiders

Sky: We have not reached out to others just yet no. We are focused on building out system first.

Let's look at a brief summary of each of the technologies mentioned:

1. Artificial Intelligence (AI): Artificial intelligence is a field of computer science that deals with the design and development of computer systems that can perform tasks that normally require human intelligence. AI encompasses many technologies, including machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing, and more.

2. Machine Learning: Machine learning is a branch of artificial intelligence that trains computer systems to use data to learn and make decisions on their own without explicit programming. Machine learning is used in a number of areas such as fraud detection, pattern recognition, behavior analysis, and more.

3. Nvidia CUDA: CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) is a parallel computing platform developed by NVIDIA. It allows graphics processing units (GPUs) to be used to perform computational tasks both more efficiently and faster than central processing units (CPUs). CUDA is widely used for computing in scientific research, deep learning, graphics processing, and so on.

Challenges of online games on a blockchain. Blockchain speed and scalability. Because blockchains are like shared global computers operated by thousands of people around the world, they suffer from a lack of speed and scalability, two critical technical elements for creating a fast game.

It is because of these technical limitations that online games on the blockchain today are mostly limited to turn-based games such as collectible card games or strategy games - smart contracts are not fast enough to process game logic in fast games such as MOBAs, FPSs, or even real-time strategy.


Player actions in a viewable form

Smart contracts and the transactions that go through them are available for anyone to see. While this can be useful in the case of financial transparency, it limits the possibilities for game design because there is no privacy.

For example, game mechanics such as fog of war in MOBA or RTS games are nearly impossible to implement because these games are based on players not having complete information. There are technical solutions to this problem that have been implemented in individual cases, but this problem has not yet been solved for blockchain games at scale.


Botting

The design of on-chain games and smart contracts means that bots can play on par with players, and there is no central authority to set anti-chit programs. This can degrade the player experience in certain games, especially because the motivation for botting is quite high when games offer NFTs and other rare digital assets as prizes.

Technical limitations
Blockchains and smart contracts are sometimes incapable of performing certain tasks due to their strict security principles.

Two important limitations for gaming applications on blockchain are access to an uncompromised random variable and automating game logic when needed.

On-chain randomization decisions, which almost all on-chain games must use, can often be subject to manipulation by validators (or miners) on the network because they can see the result of a randomization before it is validated on the blockchain.
Intermediate game actions, such as propagating a series of game logic based on player actions, require automatic calls to smart contract functions to reduce tedious gameplay, but this is not offered natively by blockchains or smart contracts. For example, if a player is collecting a resource, automation may be required to collect the resource before it appears in their inventory.
This is where a blockchain oracle network like Chainlink can play a key role in empowering on-chain gaming: Chainlink provides secure, online access to these necessary gaming features.


The conclusion is as follows:

Online blockchain games have their advantages, such as the ability to store digital assets and fraud prevention, but they also face some challenges and problems:

1. Scalability: Blockchain has limitations on the speed of transactions, which can lead to delays and network congestion in mass gaming activity.

2. High transaction cost: Each transaction on the blockchain requires payment of a fee, which can be costly, especially in the case of multiple transactions and small amounts.

3. Security: Centralized game servers can provide a higher level of security than decentralized blockchain applications, making them more vulnerable to hacker attacks.

4. User Experience: The complexity of using cryptocurrencies, private key management and other blockchain features can be confusing and challenging for newcomers.

5. Lack of game variety: There are few high-quality blockchain games currently available, and most of them are focused on collecting and trading assets, which can constrain the diversity of the gaming experience.

While blockchain games have the potential to change the gaming industry, they are still in the early stages of development and face a number of technical and user challenges to overcome.

In the Web3 era, thanks to blockchain technology, artists are gaining more freedom and control over their art. They can create unique digital assets represented as NFTs that guarantee the authenticity and uniqueness of the artwork. Blockchain enables the creation of digital artworks that cannot be forged or copied.

Furthermore, blockchain technology provides a decentralised system for the sale and distribution of works, eliminating mediators and commissions. Artists can sell their works directly to buyers, retaining most of the profits. Blockchain also allows for automatic royalty payments to be made to artists each time their work is resold.

Thus, today's artists in Web3 can boldly experiment, create unique digital works and sell them independently of intermediaries, receiving co-creation and recognition for their work. This opens up new perspectives for the art industry and allows artists to realise their creative potential to the fullest.

T: Team knows each other for some time now. Mod hasn’t been payed anything yet. They all work to deliver something good. We will pay our team members by doing market buys at LGE. The initial costs of the project are not huge. We’re just looking for investors that will support us at LGE. There will be no OTC or presales.
