Responsibilities

Partner Centered

  • Applies a deliberate and focused process to communicate the value of partnering with Microsoft over competitors based on partner business. Considers competition throughout the engagement.
  • Sells account vision to stakeholders and partners by aligning overall Microsoft value proposition and value propositions of products, channels, or solutions to the partner's business goals.
  • Maintains an understanding of the industry and gains insights as portfolios change over time. Learns from partners and applies those learnings to other partners.
  • Engages and builds trusting relationships with partners to grow business. Understands partner priorities, strategies, and goals and how they align with Microsoft’s. Builds account plans.

Partner Transformation

  • Develops and executes forward-thinking partner business plans that develop partner business and support cloud consumption and digital transformation. Considers short- and long-term goals and performance expectations based on partner capabilities.
  • Advises partners on training on relevant topics (e.g., independent selling, market opportunities, technical information) and describes the value of the training to assist with partner readiness.
  • Attends internal and external events to learn about partner business, build professional network, and maintain up-to-date awareness of industry and competitors.

Solution and Services

  • Assists partners with planning strategy transformation around Solutions and services. Consults with internal team members to guide partners through launching applications or other products and troubleshooting issues.
  • Collaborates with own team members and other internal teams (e.g., category, surface, specialist sales, marketing) and resources to support partners and to develop business plans based on partner needs and sales objectives.
  • Works with technical teams to build solutions or services, and demonstrate proof of concept (POC). Leverages technical resources at Microsoft for technical information and to evaluate partner products and services. Aligns technical resources to bring business value to the partner.

Sales Leadership

  • Leverages internal resources to develop go-to-market and co-selling strategies that define activities and expectations to meet Microsoft and partner sales goals. Prioritizes accounts for developing go-to-market strategies.
  • Supports partner readiness by developing marketing plans to generate customer sales (e.g., campaigns, incentives, and promotions). Secures marketing resources (e.g., go-to-market offers) to assist partners with developing marketing plans.
  • Assesses managed partner portfolio to identify clear patterns, opportunities, and gaps in partner accounts that can be addressed with current products and services.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry.
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Operations or related field, Computer Science, Engineering, AND 1+ year(s) partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • SMB business management experience
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Business Science, or an advanced degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) related field AND 5+ years partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry.
