Afreximbank delegation will participate in SPIEF-2022
The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) will participate in the St. Petersburg International Forum (SPIEF-2022) as a partner. This was announced by the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the bank Benedict Orama at a meeting with the Chairman of the Board and Director of the Roscongress Foundation Alexander Stuglev. The parties discussed preparations for the SPIEF, which will be held in St. Petersburg on June 15-18.
"Afreximbank is our long—standing and reliable partner in Africa, with whom we work in several areas at once, facilitating the establishment of practical contacts between Russian and African businesses, as well as the implementation of bilateral projects," Stuglev said.
According to Orama, SPIEF provides a unique opportunity to learn more about the mutual trade and investment opportunities of Africa and Russia. He noted the urgency of the issue against the background of a reduction in global food and energy supplies.
It is noted that Afreximbank is a supranational financial institution whose goal is to expand African trade. Russia has been a member of the bank's shareholders since 2017.
