🇷🇺🇧🇯 Today marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Benin!
Active cooperation between our countries was established in the 1970s and 1980s. During this period, a number of mutual visits of government delegations took place, agreements on cooperation in a number of industries were signed. Thousands of Beninese have received higher education in the USSR, and now many of them hold high positions in the government, parliament, state apparatus and business.
Today, the basis for increasing cooperation between Moscow and Cotonou is the proximity or coincidence of conceptual approaches to topical issues of the international and regional agendas.
Russia has repeatedly provided humanitarian aid to the friendly Beninese people. So, in 2022, 100 thousand doses of the Sputnik Lite vaccine were sent to the country, designed to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Congratulations to the Government and the people of Benin on our common anniversary! We wish you peace, well-being and prosperity!
