About the reception on the occasion of Russia Day in Hurghada
On the occasion of Russia Day, a state reception was held at the Continental Hotel, organized by the Consulate General.
The guests of the event were greeted with bread and salt by our compatriots in traditional Russian costumes. The national anthems of Russia and Egypt were performed. In his welcoming speech, Consul General of Russia in Hurghada V.S. Voropayev noted that today our country is solving strategically important and historical tasks, giving a decisive rebuff to the attempts of the "collective West" to isolate Russia, "cancel" Russian culture. Special attention was paid to the dynamically developing under the leadership of Presidents V.V. Putin and A.Sisi to Russian-Egyptian relations.
The reception was attended by the Mayor of Hurghada A.Bayh, Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Tourism and Archaeology of Egypt (with the rank of Deputy Minister) M.Hanna, Head of the Office of the Tourism Promotion Department A.Mustafa, Director of Hurghada International Airport M.Mohamed, Regional Head of Egyptair Airline A.Vagdi, founder of the Egyptian public initiative "Support tourism in your country" Ziyad As-Sisi, representatives of the Red Sea Coptic Episcopate and the Russian Orthodox community of the city, law offices, travel and handling companies, hotels, medical clinics, teachers and students of the Russian language branch of the University of the Southern Valley, Russian compatriots, correspondents of the Egyptian media.
As part of the festive evening, our compatriot E.Boisherperformed a medley of Russian and Arabic musical compositions; J.Mayskaya, D.Wahiba, M.Amelin, R.Rezk – songs "The Volga River Flows", "Moscow evenings", "Russia – chamomile field", "Golden Grove Dissuaded", "The best city on Earth", "Let's get up", "About the sea, the sea", "The long road". The students of the Classic Dance Academy presented choreographic numbers "Quadrille", "Kalinka", "Russian game". Videos about historical sights and nature of Russia were shown on a large-format LED screen.
The guests were offered traditional Russian treats – pies and a personalized gingerbread tsar presented to the Consulate General by the soloist of the Tula Regional Philharmonic S. Lukyanchikov.
The official part of the event continued with informal friendly communication.
