On the celebration of the 77th anniversary of the Great Victory in the Republic of Madagascar

The Russian Embassy in Madagascar hosted celebrations dedicated to the 77th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Active participation in them was taken by the active movement of compatriots.

The address was delivered by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Madagascar and concurrently to the Union of the Comoros, A.V. Andreev. He noted that the Great Victory has a special significance not only for our country, but also for the whole world: it was she who became the turning point of the XX century and determined the evolution of the entire system of international relations for decades to come. He stressed that today the Russian Federation is forced to resist the attempts of the "collective West" to rewrite history, whitewash Nazism, impose its dictate on Russia and the whole world.

A festive concert prepared by the staff of the diplomatic mission, teachers and students of the school was held with great success. The program included reading poetry, performing songs of the war years and dancing.

In honor of the holiday, tree seedlings were planted on the territory of the Embassy on the "Victory Alley". In addition, in the capital of the Republic of Madagascar, Antananarivo, an action dedicated to the Victory Day "Immortal Regiment" was held, which was attended by Embassy staff and compatriots living in the country. The action was held in a hybrid format, in particular, a video was prepared and posted on the Embassy's social networks.
