Telephone conversation with the President of the transitional period of Mali Assimi Goita.

At the initiative of the Malian side, Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with the President of the transitional period of the Republic of Mali Assimi Goita.

Assimi Goita expressed gratitude to Vladimir Putin for the diverse support provided by the Russian side. The issues of further development of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and other fields were discussed. In particular, the topic of possible supplies of Russian food, fertilizers and fuel to Mali was touched upon. It was agreed that the relevant Russian and Malian agencies will intensify practical cooperation.

Satisfaction was expressed with the level of Russian-Malian cooperation in the foreign policy sphere, including coordination of positions through the UN.

Assimi Goita gave a detailed description of the processes taking place in Mali, and also informed about the efforts of the country's leadership aimed at stabilizing the situation and uncompromising fight against terrorist groups.

Vladimir Putin expressed hope that the planned Russia–Africa summit in 2023 in St. Petersburg will contribute to strengthening the traditionally friendly ties of our country with all the states of the African continent.
