About the celebration of Russia Day in Mozambique

On June 14, a reception was held at the Russian Embassy in Mozambique on the occasion of the national holiday – Russia Day. The solemn events were attended by Secretary of State for Sports K. Mendes, Chairman of the parliamentary faction of the ruling party FRELIMO S.Panti, the Chairman of the Municipal Council (Mayor) of Maputo, E. Komishe, heads of departments of a number of ministries, ambassadors of BRICS countries, Africa and Asia who did not support anti-Russian Western sanctions, representatives of UN organizations, Chairman of the Confederation of Economic Associations A.Vuma and other prominent businessmen.

The hall hosted an exhibition on the occasion of the 350th anniversary of the birth of Peter the Great, which aroused the keen interest of the guests.

In his speech at the reception, the representative of the Government, Minister of National Defense Cristovau Shume, noted the preservation in Mozambique of the memory of Russia's help in the struggle for independence. He expressed readiness to continue comprehensively developing the traditionally friendly ties between the two countries and people.
