💒Orthodox Church in Africa: The delegation of the Exarchate completed another missionary trip with a visit to the Republic of Benin.
On November 3, the first ever divine service of the Russian Orthodox Church in Benin took place - in the building of the Russian Embassy in Cotonou, Priest Georgy Maximov performed a prayer service and a requiem mass.
The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Benin, I.D. Evdokimov, embassy staff and compatriots prayed at the service. At the end of the service, Orthodox literature, icons, and crosses were handed over.
The next day, the Russian Ambassador to Benin, I.D. Evdokimov, met with Priest George. Igor Dmitrievich expressed gratitude to the hierarchy of the Russian Orthodox Church for sending a priest to the country and expressed hope that the spiritual care of compatriots will continue.
During the trip fr .George held meetings and conversations with local residents who expressed a desire to join the Russian Orthodox Church.
