The he first visit to the DRC by a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church

🙏🏻 On the occasion of the first visit to the DRC by a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church, a Sunday service was organized for believers in Kinshasa on October 23, which was conducted by a Russian religious figure, chairman of the Missionary Department of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, Priest Georgy (Maximov).

The priest celebrated the liturgy, the water-holy moleben and the memorial service, and also communicated with the flock. At the end of the service, he gave religious literature and crosses to the participants of the service as a gift.

Among those gathered were the Russian Ambassador to DR Congo A.L.Sentebov, the head and staff of the Serbian diplomatic mission, as well as Russian compatriots.

Those present expressed the hope that meetings with the Orthodox clergy will now become regular.

Recall that the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, consisting of two dioceses - the North African and South African - was created by the decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church in December 2021.
