💒Orthodox Church in Africa: Tanzania, Dar es Salaam
One of the most important areas of the Exarchate's work is educational and educational activities. Another project was launched in Dar es Salaam in October with the support of the Russian Center for Science and Culture and Kisarawe Educational Center.
Missionary and teacher A.V. Lyulka conducts training courses for students from Orthodox Tanzanian families (including families of priests). Along with general education subjects for passing exams and obtaining a certificate of secondary education, students of the courses study the Russian language and the basics of Orthodoxy. The age of students is from 15 to 20 years. Students, due to various circumstances, could not get a school education, now they have such an opportunity. The general training program is designed for two years.
On Sundays, students gather for worship in the RCSC building. At the end of the service, Archimandrite Zacharias conducts catechetical talks.
I express my gratitude to our priest in Dar es Salaam Konstantin Shoki, who coordinates the work of the project, Director of the Russian Center for Science and Culture M.V. Pateeva, partners in Kisarawe Educational center.
This is the second successfully implemented educational project of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa after the opening of a comprehensive school in the Central African Republic.
