About the meeting of the Consul General of Russia in Hurghada with the Governor of Aswan ProvinceYou

Consul General of Russia in Hurghada V.S. Voropayev and Governor of Aswan Province A.Atiya during the meeting held on December 5, 2022, noted the traditionally friendly nature of relations between Russia and Egypt, the foundation of which was laid during the construction of the High-rise Aswan Dam and which are successfully developing today under the leadership of Presidents V.V.Putin and A. Sisi.

A.Atiya spoke about large-scale socio-economic projects, including in the fields of healthcare, tourism, agriculture, energy and transport. Noting that at least 3 million people visit the province annually. of foreigners, he spoke in favor of expanding the flow of Russian tourists. In this context, it was proposed to explore the possibility of organizing direct flights from Russian cities to Aswan.

According to A.Atiyi, the province is interested in attracting foreign, including Russian, investors in projects for the extraction of granite, marble, phosphates, as well as the food and textile industries.

During the conversation, it was noted that there is a solid potential for bilateral contacts in the humanitarian sphere: the participation of Russian representatives in the annual International Women's Film Festival and Folk Art Festival, the establishment of cooperation between Aswan University and Russian universities. The issue of establishing twinning ties with Russian regions was discussed.

V.S. Voropaev told the interlocutor about the events held in recent months with the support of the Consulate General aimed at promoting Russian culture: the production of the opera "Aida" by the artists of the Tchaikovsky State Opera and Ballet Theater of the Udmurt Republic in El Gouna, the exhibition of Russian artists in Luxor and Cairo, the concerts "Bridge of Friendship" in the cities of Ken and Luxor, prepared by creative teams of compatriots of Hurghada.
