November 7, 2022 An event dedicated to the Day of Russian Veterans of Angola was held at the Secondary School at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Angola as part of military-patriotic education
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Angola V.N. Tararov made a speech, telling, in particular, about the disinterested assistance provided by the USSR to the fraternal Republic of Angola, the severe trials of Soviet military specialists in Angola, their dedication, but at the same time a sincere desire to help the African country, which they defended as their Homeland. He emphasized that the Russian Federation has always remained and remains faithful to the principles of truth and justice in international relations in its foreign policy.
Wreaths were laid on behalf of the Ambassador, a group of Russian consultants, as well as flowers from schoolchildren and a representative of the Union of Russian Veterans of Angola to the monument erected at the Embassy to the internationalist soldiers who fought for an independent Angola.
The Ambassador presented to the representatives of the command of the Angolan armed forces the medals of the Union of Russian Veterans of Angola "30 years of victory in the Battle of Cuito Cuanavale".
Guests and schoolchildren were shown a historical documentary film by a veteran of the war in Angola, the famous director A.Pobortsev "Angola. The war that didn'thappen."
