🇷🇺🇿🇦 Russian Embassy in South Africa

On June 13, 2022, a reception was held in Pretoria on the occasion of Russia Day.

The event was attended by heads of state authorities of South Africa, diplomatic missions accredited in Pretoria, military attaches, representatives of associations of Russian compatriots, the Russian Orthodox Church, public figures and journalists.

The Russian Ambassador to South Africa I.I. Rogachev addressed the guests with a welcoming speech. He noted that in a relatively short period of three decades since the adoption of the declaration on state sovereignty, Russia has been able to significantly strengthen its statehood, improve the economic situation and well-being of its citizens.

Acting Minister for Civil Service and Management Affairs of South Africa, Minister of Employment and Labor of South Africa T.Nkesi congratulated the Russians on the national holiday. The Minister recalled the long-standing historical ties between Russia and South Africa, that the Soviet Union played a key role in supporting the liberation struggle in Southern Africa.
