About the celebration of Russia Day in Sudan On

On June 12, 2022, a solemn reception on the occasion of Russia Day was held at the embassy "site". About 200 guests took part in it. Among them are representatives of the political and military leadership of the country, the public and the media sphere, as well as the friendly diplomatic corps.

The high level of our bilateral relations was emphasized by the participation of three Sudanese ministers – finance and economic planning, mineral resources and social development.

The traditional participants of the event were compatriots working in Sudan and an asset of the Sudanese Association of Graduates of Soviet/Russian Universities. Distinguished Russian students of Khartoum University were also invited.

In his welcoming speech, Russian Ambassador to Sudan V.F. Zheltov noted the continuity of the tradition of honoring Russian statehood. Taking into account the new geopolitical realities, the determination of our country to continue firmly defending sovereignty, security and national interests was emphasized. The special nature of relations with Sudan, the mutual attitude to their progressive development is noted.

In the context of the current foreign policy situation around Russia and Sudan, the event had a resonant sound in national media resources.
