Olea leccino

This variety of olives is very popular not only in Italy, but all over the world.

Olive Lechino is one of the varieties for the production of high quality oil. Plus it has a high yield.

Also, many countries choose this variety for its beauty and frost resistance. The olive has a dense crown and can withstand up to -10 degrees below zero. Therefore, it is often used as an ornamental plant, as a street decoration.

The choice also falls on this variety also because it begins its fruiting from an early age.

Lechino's fruits are black and purple in color. The weight of one fruit is in the region of 2-3 g, the shape is oval, slightly elongated.

Leaf color is green-gray.

The variety is not self-pollinating, therefore, the varieties Pendolino, Maurino, Frantoio, Moraiolo, Coratina are ideal as pollinators.

High quality oil is made from Lechino, golden in color with a green tint. The aroma of the oil itself is very light, but in combination with other varieties it becomes more intense and aromatic. Has light fruity notes, some of it smells aromatic notes like menthol, basil, artichoke and almonds.

The variety is also suitable for pickling.
