Creating stylized effects
Welcome to the second practice lesson! In this lesson, we will break down and look at the different visual effects that can be added to our image and test their effects in practice.
Why you need effects in an image
The right use of effects can completely transform your image and turn it into a work of art. This is not something that is usually taught to beginners, but I want you to have a full understanding of what you can do with your image to get the results you want.
Practice
Here are the basic effect settings that I use and can recommend to you:
abstract art
graffiti
splatter
pop art
line art
pixel art
limited palette
flat color
polaroid
papercut
outline
film noir
monochrome
ukiyoe
watercolor
pastel color
chinese ink painting
traditional art style
And a few more specific choices that yield interesting options
For demonstration I will use this prompt (separately marked what was changed)
- absurdres, best quality,1girl, solo, streaked hair, crop top, denim shorts, choker, (graffiti:1.5 Меняем только тут. Увеличенный весь указан специально для лучшего эффекта), paint splatter, arms behind back, (slouching), leaning back, against wall, (leaning to the side:0.25), looking at viewer, armband, thigh strap, streaked hair, paint on body, upturned eyes, head down, head tilt, (from side:0.75), bored, (expressionless:0.75)
For self-generation you can use this link here
Results
Now let's take a look at the best options. Since these are style options, you also need to choose the right model so that it can work with the styles you need. In my case, however, I picked the most suitable one and will now demonstrate the resulting results.
One of the things I would like to highlight is the traditional Japanese style ukioke limited palette combined with a limited palette.
It's a pretty specific look, but you have to agree, it just looks mesmerizing.
Another option that you should definitely work with is "abstract art". All thanks to the maximum chaotic nature of the image, the overall picture looks incredibly beautiful.
"pop art" is an effect that always works well and gives predictable results . It can add vibrancy to your image and make it look more lively.
Results with display errors
Now let's look at the images that the AI didn't quite get right. And we'll start with polaroid. Here the AI did not understand what this style means and simply added photos and the camera itself to the image.
Another misunderstood style is "chinese ink painting". But here the result is predictable. Chinese ink painting itself is quite rare and is rarely used in model training. So if you want to get an image in the style of Chinese painting (Gohua) but you just add some details in Chinese, then know that the model is not trained to paint this way.
A style that has been misunderstood by the AI. And it's a combination of apocalyptic atompunk. But here I think it's more a problem of the prompt itself and the model with which the generation was done. And so in general the image is something remotely but reminiscent of apocalyptic.
Homework
Your homework assignment will be to try different options yourself to stylize your image. You can use this prompt to do that
- absurdres, best quality,1girl, solo, streaked hair, crop top, denim shorts, choker, (graffiti:1.5 Меняем только тут. Увеличенный весь указан специально для лучшего эффекта), paint splatter, arms behind back, (slouching), leaning back, against wall, (leaning to the side:0.25), looking at viewer, armband, thigh strap, streaked hair, paint on body, upturned eyes, head down, head tilt, (from side:0.75), bored, (expressionless:0.75)
Or you can go straight to the link and start generating.
You can also see examples of how to use prompts in my telegram group, where I share ready-made algorithms and image creation tweaks every day.
Download the results of your experiments and share them within the course. Remember that the main thing is your creativity and imagination! Good luck, and enjoy the process of creating unique images with artificial intelligence.
