Shibuya - Web3 Video Platform
Shibuya is Web3 video platform based on interactive storytelling where long-form content is free to watch, but monetized on the blockchain to allow viewer participation on the creative process and also shared ownership. Shibuya allows users to participate, fund and vote for the outcome of the story. The platform was created by the young digital artist Emily Yang, better known as @pplpleasr. Before Shibuya, she created visual effects for Hollywood movies & Blizzard cinematics and made animations for DeFi protocols and NFT projects. Shibuya have raised a seed round of $6.9 million led by a16z crypto and Variant with participation from notable angels Joe Tsai, GMJP, Kevin Durant, Paris Hilton... A16z Crypto also prepared interactive talk about her journey as a creator.
The first webseries about the journey of going down of the crypto rabbit hole that was launched on Shibuya is called White Rabbit. This series is directed by @pplpleasr, legendary artist Maciej Kuciara and gigabrain devs aka PleasrDevs. The founders say "It is a labor of love that combines our zeal for anime, Black Mirror, Love Death + Robots, and web3." The series follows protagonist Mirai on her journey down the crypto rabbit hole as she learns about the blockchain and eventually defends it. The plot explores general themes of self sovereignty, free will vs. illusion of choice, and the ability to build new types of governance and economic freedom.
The concept is simple: main character will come across two doors and behind each door is an alternate ending to the pilot. To watch/vote for an ending, users will need to mint a Producer Pass NFT and stake it in the door of their choosing. As users purchase Producer Passes, it also helps fundraise for the film’s production. For the pilot of White Rabbit, the majority vote will decide the future fate of main character and her development in the plot. When you vote by staking your Producer Pass, you also earn $WRAB token which represents ownership of White Rabbit.
The art of the Producer Passes are inspired by traditional Japanese wood block prints. Don't forget that each chapter will have its own unique Producer Pass and Team has something special planned for loyal community members who collect producer passes from all chapters. (for example burn to redeem items or NFTs in the future!)

$WRAB token will be focused on being utilized as the White Rabbit DAO token and ownership and governance of the White Rabbit DAO, which governs the IP and all matters related to White Rabbit series. $WRAB also grants access to “producer” and “executive producer” only channels in discord for behind the scenes artwork and conversations with other producers and the team. Team is also actively collaborating with DegenScore to customize viewing experiences (for future chapters) based on wallet history/on-chain activity.
