Aston and Milan continue their perfect start to the season

Only Aston Villa and AC Milan continued their perfect start for the season after the International break. Both have won all their opening matches of their respective leagues.

In the Premier League, the weekend began with the Merseyside Derby between Everton and Liverpool, which ended in a 2-2 draw. Everton ended the game with ten men, with Richarlison being sent off for a reckless tackle on Thiago.

Manchester City defeated Arsenal 1-0 at the Etihad in a late-night kick-off. Raheem Sterling gave the hosts the lead in the first half which was the only goal of the match. There would have been more goals but both the keepers gave one of their best performances.

After the 6-1 humiliation by Tottenham, Manchester United finally came back on winning ways by defeating Newcastle 4-1. The Reds fell behind after an own goal by Luke Shaw inside two minutes. Harry Maguire equalized for United before the Fernandes took the lead in the 86th minute. Wan Bissaka and Marcos Rashford scored in extra time for the visitors.

Tottenham gave away a three-goal lead to draw 3-3 with West Ham at home. Spurs were three up inside sixteen minutes after a goal by Son and to by Kane. But the hammers turned everything around after an 82nd minute goal from Balbuena which was followed by a Davidson Sanchez own goal and an extra time winner by Lanzini.

Chelsea’s defense was in shambles at Southampton. Werner scored two first half goals only for Ings and Adams to equalize in the second half. Kai Havertz gave the Blues the lead but again due to poor defending Vestergaard equalized in extra time.

Elsewhere in Serie A, AC Milan beat Inter 2-1 with Ibrahimović scoring a brace on his return.

Napoli defeated Atalanta 4-1 and Juventus could only manage a 1-1 draw against Crotone, who were without Cristiano Ronaldo who tested positive for CoronaVirus a few days ago.
