OCI cardholders can travel to India now
Indians having OCI cards and are stranded abroad can now travel to India, the Ministry of Home affairs' spokesperson said today, while making announcements about relaxations on travel restrictions imposed in the wake of Covid-19.
Though it is a relaxation, there are some conditions mentioned by the spokesperson according to which only the following people can travel back:
1. Minor children born to Indian national abroad and having OCI card.
2. OCI cardholders who want to return to India on account of family emergencies, like death in family.
3. Couples where one spouse has an OCI card and the other one is an Indian national and they have permanent residency in India.
4. University students who are OCI cardholders but their parents are Indian citizens living in India.
