Mumbai and Delhi go head to head in IPL final
Defending Champions Mumbai Indians will take on Delhi Capitals in the final of this year’s IPL final, held in Dubai. This will be Delhi’s first IPL trophy if they somehow manage to defeat four time champions Mumbai.
Delhi reached the final after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad who had previously won against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator. This is the first time Delhi are playing in the final of IPL.
Mumbai were table toppers while Delhi were second. Mumbai easily beat Delhi in their first qualifier.
Delhi is being led by Shreyas Iyer while Mumbai’s local boy Rohit Sharma leads Indians. Mumbai have quite a rich experience of playing in the finals, as they have already played five finals and won in four of them.
This year’s IPL has been a surprising one. CSK got out of the tournament very early ans later there were three teams in the race to qualify for the fourth spot that would see them in the final.
Many pundits consider the final to be a nail biter but Mumbai have already defeated Delhi in their last three matches this season. It will be interesting to see if Delhi can bounce back and get a win over the defending champions.
