UCL matchday 1 review
The most awaited football league on the planet returned this week. The UEFA Champions League 2020/21 began with some mouth watering fixtures and surprising results
Bayern München 4 – 0 Atl. Madrid
Atletico Madrid began their UCL against the defending champions Bayern München. The game ended with a big Bayern win for Bayern. Kingsly Coman was the man of the match for the game as he scored two and set one up for Goretzka. Madrid never looked like they were in the game as they failed to score a single goal.
PSG 1 – 2 Man Utd
Manchester United travelled to Paris and returned with a win. Fernandes gave the lead to the reds through a penalty in the first half. An own goal by Anthony Martial helped the hosts level, but Rashford’s 87th minute winner proved to be the deciding one.
Real Madrid 2 – 3 Shakhtar Donetsk
Real were beaten by the Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk at Santiago Bernabeu. The visitors were three up inside the first half after a goal each from Tete and Solomon and a Varane own goal. Madrid tried their best in the second half but could only manage to get back two via Modric and Vinicius.
Ajax 0 – 1 Liverpool
Last year’s champions Liverpool travelled to Ajax for their opening game. The match was highly contested as both the teams were giving their best. The only game of the match was an own goal by Nicolas Tagliafico.
