India celebrates its 74th Independence Day
The realm news team would like to congratulate every Indian on the event of its 74th Independence Day. 74 years ago, on this day the British rule was brought to an end and India had gained its freedom after approximately two hundred years.
PM Narendra Modi addressed the nation from Delhi’s red fort. He mentioned various points regarding the government’s plans. Here are some key take away points from his speech.
- The government is going to introduce health I-cards to all of its citizens which will carry their medical conditions, prescriptions, and medical history. The aim is to use technology as a means of enhancing the Indian health system.
- Modi spoke about Atma- Nirbhar Bharat’s mission which will enable us as a nation to stand on our own feet and reduce our reliance on imports. He said that foreign investments would be increased.
- He thanked and congratulated all the workers and doctors who have and are tackling the pandemic on the forefront.
- Modi praised the soldiers for their actions on the LAC. He said it shows India’s strength and capability on all forefronts. However, he didn’t mention China in his speech, but the message was clear.
- He also talked about how all the south Asian countries should work together and in tandem to enhance every citizen’s quality of life. It could only be done via working together and through cooperation.
