Tarun Gogoi former CM of Assam passes away

Former Chief Minister of Assam and senior congress leader Tarun Gogoi passed away on Monday. He was going under treatment for post Covid-19 complications at Gauhati Medical College.

Gogoi was on ventilation after suffering from multi-organ failure. Earlier today the hospital said that his condition is very critical.

He was tested Covid-19 positive on August 25 and admitted to Gauhati Medical College.

The three time CM of Assam is 86 years old and was admitted to GMCH on November 2. His condition got worse on Saturday night after that he was put on a ventilator.

After the news broke, PM Modi described him as a popular leader and veteran administrator.

“Shri Tarun Gogoi Ji was a popular leader and a veteran administrator, who had years of political experience in Assam as well as the Centre. Anguished by his passing away. My thoughts are with his family and supporters in this hour of sadness. Om Shanti.” he said on twitter.
