Arsenal lift their 14th FA Cup
Arsenal beat Chelsea to lift their 14th FA Cup title and first under manager Mikel Arteta. The gunners won 2-1 with both goals scored by their talisman Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.
In a match full of injuries for Frank Lampard’s side, Cristian Pulisic had opened the scoring in the fifth minute of the game. Later Arsenal was awarded a penalty for a foul on Aubameyang by Azpilicueta, which the Gabonese international calmly converted. His second goal came in the second half which sealed the win for Arteta’s men.
Injuries to key players in both the halves made it difficult for Chelsea to recover. In the first half captain, Cesar Azpilicueta was off due hamstring injury and in second their man in form Cristian Pulisic was out with the same problem.
Mateo Kovacic was shown a red card after getting two yellow cards which could have been easily avoided.
This is Arsenal’s first trophy under coach Arteta and the gunners have improved immensely under the Spaniard.
