Lalji Tandon passes away

Madhya Pradesh governor Lalji Tandon is no more, he was 85. The news was confirmed by his son Ashutosh Tandon on his twitter handle Tuesday morning, saying,” babuji is no more”.

He was suffering from a prolonged illness and was under treatment from June 11. He was admitted to the hospital after he complained of breathing problems and difficulty in urinating.

PM Narendra Modi paid condolences to the late Governor on his twitter handle. He wrote,” Shri Lalji Tandon will be remembered for his untiring efforts to serve society. He played a key role in strengthening the BJP in Uttar Pradesh. He made a mark as an effective administrator, always giving importance to public welfare. Anguished by his passing away.”

He was formerly a member of the Bhartiya Janta Party and had served as Governor of Bihar in the past. His passing away is a major loss for the Madhya Pradesh politics.
