Biden will be the next president of US

Joe Biden will be next president of the United States of America and Kamala Harris will be the first Indian origin Vice-President of the U.S. Joe Biden got 290 electoral votes, 20 more than the magic line which is 270 and Trump got 214 electoral votes.

There is joy and happiness in people in many urban cities as people come out of the street dancing and chanting. Some people said they were freed from the ugly four year term of Trump president.

In a statement soon after the race was called, Biden said “ America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country. The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be the president of all Americans- whether you voted for me or not. I will keep this faith that you have placed in me.”

It takes several days to count the full votes to be tabulated and certified by the Secretary of the State in each state as per required by law.

Under the US constitution, Trump will remain President till noon of January 20, when the term of the new president is inaugurated.
